All wet shavers should at least TRY it. It is almost like a rite of passage, and a shaving shenanigan that doesn't put one at risk of needing stitches. Plus, you never know what'll happen. It might choose you. It did not choose me. I did not get cat urine out of it, but rather a base note of home permanent. But it was worth the try, just to say I did.
Hi guys....Tried the Slim with another Astra Superior blade, couldn't get much done, I'm afraid. Maybe I'm messing up on the ANGLE aspect. It's quite possible that I set it up the way I want(the angle)and then just as blade touches face, it slips on me. I can definitely HEAR some shaving action, but I want to FEEL it, too, of course. Maybe I'll go to power 4 and see if there's a difference. Other than that,I must have loaded real well, as the soap now looks quite bumpy.
Tell you what....if they have some at the Sally's Beauty near me, I'll WHIFF it a few times to see if it chooses me. But the cat urine aspect is what drives me away. Many have described it that way.
My wife is sort of fussy about scents, so I was really excited that she likes this one. Most of the more pronounced scents that I really like, she doesn't much care for, so they are relegated to those days when she isn't around. Is it the tobacco element she doesn't like? If she likes the vanilla note, maybe you could try a sample of Stirlings Vanilla Sandalwood. It was a little too much vanilla for me, but it does have a good woody element to it.
I daily because of my job, it just depends if I do it at night and take my time and use a DE or act lazy and use the electric in the morning. I sometimes prefer the electric because it does such a bad job I get a bit more growth in the evening. If I DE everyday I sometimes feel like im just dragging it across the skin. Kind of like a bay rum, but with a Dr. Pepper or a root beer dumped into it. It is clovey, which I normally don't care for, but it works for me in this. @Norcalnewb likes this one I think. Maybe he can describe it better.
I should check Amazon to see how many people have bought it, and what their reviews are. I bet SLIGHTLY less than the Original
