  1. Yes, stick issues here, too. I did try face, palm, and mug lathering. Bowls do it for me. I can see what's happening, make my adjustments.

Very dedicated. It will serve you well. If you make it to the end of the month keeping to your Rule I'll nominate you for Enforcer and Head Cheerleader to Newbie Shavers.
Not sure if I could hold off using a new razor. As it is, my injectors and shavettes stare at me when I grab up the Fat Boy.

...and he doesn't pass those out to just anyone! I earned one yesterday and I'll cherish it forever.
  2. February 7

I've been shaving this month with my birth year (G2) Fat Boy set on 5. So far, I've used a Polsilver SI and an Astra SP blade. Both blades have provided super comfortable and close two-pass shaves. I've alternated between Kiss My Face cream, Soap Commander Love, and Eufros Jabonman Oriental Breeze. Like Neal, I enjoy the weight and handling of the FB, even if it takes some extra work to catch all the whiskers right under my nose.

I even tried a couple of shaves using KMF without a brush (shaving @Screwtape style), once with a girly pink cart and another time with the FB on 5, to see how this might work for me on a trip. In each case, it worked OK, but there was no fun to be had. I decided to pick up a 3.4 oz. tube of KMF for my next trip with a carry-on bag. Either my Kent BK4 silvertip or my EJ Synthetic brush will also make the trip, along with one of the Derby multi-blade carts I purchased last year for just such an occasion.

I plan to load up the FB with a Feather Blade tomorrow in honor of @NCoxSTL and his puppy love for this razor/blade combo. My Voskies should arrive any day now, and of course, I'll take one on its maiden voyage in my FB later this month. I also have a Feather AC razor loaded with a Feather Super Pro ready to go sometime this month for a Unicorn style shave.

It's exciting to see all the new folks joining this month's 30 Day Rule/Focus! Welcome to all! This is the place to dramatically improve your shaves while having good fun and fellowship.

Guitar practice today, followed by a lesson this afternoon. I'm actually starting to play notes that sound like real songs and getting some callouses on my fingertips to show for the effort. Other than that....it's rainy and cool here in the Bluegrass.
  3. Sound like we have a new 30 Day Rule/Focus officer in the wings. If he brings the cookies, he's got my support!
  4. I agree. We are fortunate to be able to enjoy shaving daily. There are others who cannot say that. Although wet shaving and my blade technique takes longer, it is definitely more pleasurable.
  5. I have had zero problems with making the FB work under my nose. None at all. Not one issue.

  6. C'mon, Neal, I wasn't born yesterday. That's the result of a 6-pass shave with a Voskie. Looks pretty close, though.
  7. I can't say that. every other day for me. I enjoy shaving so much sometime I wish I needed to shave daily.
  8. Focus Shave #42:

The blade was pretty much on its last legs so I skipped ATG on my neck. A dull blade and my neck are almost a guarantee for irritation. So now my neck isn't very smooth, and it's annoying. I suppose it beats red razor burn, but still. Should have put a new blade in.

I am enjoying these AC razors so much, I don't want to shave with anything else. Today was going to be an injector day, but I grabbed a Kai at the last minute. Wonder if I am in a honeymoon period, or if this is my new gig?
  9. It may not be the new gig yet, but it sure will make you cheat on the old one.

  10. This is my favorite shave stick. Great smell and very slick. It has a great after shave feel. It is not drying at all. I highly recommend it.

  15. Another wonderful winter photo. How is the Personna 74 holding up?
  16. I saw their post on Twitter about the brass General. Seems that the price will be reasonable as well. I hope to be able to get one.
  17. Beautiful setting, Doug!
  18. If I'm him where's the money?
