    SOTD February 10, 2017

    Blade: Chinese Schick
    Razor: Personna injector
    Brush: Omega 10049 boar
    Lather: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced with Fine American Blend aftershave, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Fat Friday strikes again! Nice shave - smooth, comfortable, efficient. The Personna injector is mild but provided a close shave today. The Fat was great as usual and Fine American Blend is a terrific scent to begin the day with. All in all a refreshing way to start the day.

    Have a great Friday!

  5. Thank you all for the kind words. This brush is one of my favorites. It is a sheer joy to use with everything I want in a brush. The Envy knot has scrub without any real scritch, fantastic backbone and great flow through. After every 7-10 uses I use a good quality furniture wax to keep the handle looking nice. Plus it is really easy to get good photos of this brush.

  8. Hi guys.....Good shave with the Stirling Barbershop soap today(Fri). I might have done a better job loading-I need to balance the act of getting enough on the brush while avoiding going too deep into the soap as I do. Must keep the brush on the top, right? I see these videos where guys swirl the brush around like there's no tomorrow. 2 passes, and thought about doing a 3rd, but then reconsidered. The Clubman Original Scent provided a nice finish, as I knew it would.
  9. Great picture this morning, Perry!
  10. Thank you, Andrew!
  11. Load it like it owes you money, Paul!

  12. I load like there's no tomorrow. A tub of Stirling will last forever! Load up plenty. You can push the brush down some if you want. I do at times depending on the size of the container and type of brush.
  13. I wouldn't worry too hard about overloading. Stirling isn't a hard soap per se, but it isn't really croapy. You can get after it pretty hard.

Did you make two passes with the Slim?
  14. The brush? Well, we'll see, next time I use it. Maybe I'll go A LITTLE tougher next time(which will be tomorrow)
  15. Cost of living adjustment. :)

  16. OK I will tomorrow, thanks. As for the Slim-well, I tried to do ONE complete pass with it, and felt some cutting, but it just didn't get much of anything. Had to close with the DisposeABLE again. I'll keep working with it(the Slim).
  17. Oh I misread what P. Northern said.....I thought he said "Looks like it owes you money". But, right, I will load the heck out of the thing next time :).

  18. Paul, are you maintaining good angle? The Slim ought to remove a lot of stubble on the first pass if the angle is right.

  19. Beautiful photo Jim. What do you think of the X3?
  20. Do you have a scale? Weigh the tub before and after you load. Since you can't post pictures, it would just give you an idea where you sit. A decent starting point would be a gram. With Stirling, I load anywhere from a gram and a quarter on smaller brushes, to two grams on the great big ones. That gives me great plenty to really saturate the brush, and give me enough for three passes plus cleanup. If you are a two pass shaver you wouldn't need quite as much.

Then again, I have been told I have poor lathering technique, so what do I know?
