February Fat Boy Focus C.O.Bigelow Cream & Burma Shave boar '59 Gillette #195, Gillette Black 7 O'clock Alum block & Proraso Refresh AS Lotion Been waiting for the truck all day... Had time to putter around the house twice. Then the shipment arrived - shave time! Grabbed up the boar brush sold by the brushless shave cream company & rebranded Proraso Green. Easy lather when the soap is premoisturized. Second use of the Super Platinum and it again felt harsh compared to the Yellow. Three muscle memorized passes with a step down from 9 to 6 after the WTG. Little bit of chin buffing with what was left of the lather. Cool water rinse, alum swiped average tingle over the menthol cream. The moment I'd been anticipating - Refresh? Yes! A light scent of maybe menthol or mint, probably eucalyptus. Now twenty minutes later I feel well moisturized. I do think I'll like this product. Good Shaves Y'all!
Fatboy February!!!!! February 13 Razor - 1959 (E4) Gillette Fatboy (9) Blade - (2) Soap - Tabac Brush - Semogue 620 Post - Alum, Nivea @Bama Samurai made the bold statement that the Gillette Fatboy is a BBS machine on 9. Tonight was the completion of a run through some blades to test that theory. Starting with the Gillette 7 o'clock Black, on through the Voskhod, GSB, Bic CP, and Feather, it has indeed lived up to that billing. In the case of the Feather, it hit BBS on 3. The Sharp Star has its turn on 9 tonight and the atmosphere is electric with anticipation! Oh, wait, that was a bulb burning out. Anyway......... Semogue and Tabac for a fine lather and the usual two passes and touch up. Finished with alum which was mostly quiet, nothing out of the ordinary. Added some Nivea Original just to enjoy it. The result? The baby is sleeping soundly and all is well. Yep, that guy out in Colorado with the funny southern accent doesn't lie. A true BBS machine. Back to Grand Blade Trials tomorrow with the Fatboy. The Crown Platinum from Egypt is up for testing and it may be a real test of the BBS theory. I haven't been especially impressed with Lord blades of any shape or color. Have a great evening and a better tomorrow! Yes, at least for the rest of Fatboy February. Since the gaps are the same on both razor I'm assuming it will represent the same mild/normal/aggressive shaves as the Slim. Now, the blade exposure is a bit different due to the different head geometry, but I don't think it will make enough of a difference to make, for instance, a Tiger usable where the Slim would say it wasn't.
