  1. Actually I ran over a guy with my truck who assaulted my daughter when she was in high school. . They already have a name for me.
  2. I hoped you backed up a few times!!

My HS Driver's ed teacher told us it is cheaper if you kill them than if you injure them. He told us to back up and back a few times to 'check' on them.

Easy two passes! Shark SS is pretty much a one shot blade. Calm alum and the usual heroic finish in full effect! Another long day in Denver. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.

    Have a fantastic Friday!
    :)
  4. You sound like a good dad to me
  5. When "caught" taking photos of your SOTD, tell the disbelievers you are a collector, but thinking about selling some of your pieces on the bay. It's Advertising! Product Photography is more acceptable than Shave Porn..
  6. Brilliant!
  7. I hope the name is A great father. Way to go.

  9. It has been a crazy week and this thread grows so fast it is hard to keep up with.

Day 4 and wrap up with my Thäter bulb.

I have always preferred fan shaped knots and I was not really a big fan of bulbs so I never used this brush allot. Using it 4 days in a row my appreciation for this brush has grown and it will see more use in the future. To reward the brush I bought out my number 1 DE, 2011 R41 and loaded it with a fresh Iridium Super. Crown and Crane rounded out the morning shave. 4 passes and zero blood or irritation, BBS but not long enough to be called an epic shave.

  10. Great picture, Mark!
  11. Next brush focus, back to the boar, Omega boar that is...

I don't use this brush often, maybe it is because I do not like the fact that it was dyed to look like a badger brush. I feel like it is self hating.

The last day in a busy week and I have the Iridium Super left from yesterday so I pulled out my Joris DE and Razo Rock Zi' Pepinno. Now I remember the other reason I don't use this brush it also gets a big hole in the middle of the know when I lather. Still it made lots of slick lather. 4 passes and BBS, no irritation but I there was a little blood so minus a half grade.

    TGIF!

  14. Fatboy February!!!!!

    Grand Blade Trial

    February 16
    Razor - 1959 (E4) Gillette Fatboy (9)
    Blade - [IMG] (3)
    Soap - Arko
Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip
    Post - Alum

Oh so close! I was singing the praises of this blade and it so very nearly finished out in a magnificent manner. Right up until the lather turned red on the second pass on my left neck. Just one spot but that's enough to knock a few points off. Tough break for what has been a very good blade.

In spite of my doubts this blade has given me great results and, even with the cut tonight, the feel is BBS. So, the Fatboy will still get its props as a BBS machine on 9, but something about the blade dug just enough to create a problem. Nothing horrible or serious enough to need anything more than alum to close, but it's enough to ruin what was a perfect run. The overall alum feel wasn't bad either. A touch warm in spots, especially the cut of course, but overall a very nice shave.

Is it possible I did something in my technique at that spot? Hmmmmmmmmm. Possible but highly unlikely to be that small of a problem. I'd still give this blade an A- and it's the first Lord blade that I would consider in a regular rotation. Nice performance over three days.

I'm going to once again pause the Grand Blade Trial, this time for 3 days, and give some new soap a try. My Stirling samples arrived today so I'll spend a day with each scent to see how it works. I'll most likely stick with the Fatboy but I may throw the pain stick into the mix as well. Curious to see how the soap performs as it will be my first run with it.

And, as soon as my Jayaruh #46 arrives, I plan to break it in and put it through some paces as well. Lots of cool stuff to play with at the moment! It's President's Day weekend which means the first major sale of the year for me the next four days. I'll try to stay up to date as we go but I'm hoping to be so busy over the weekend that I can't breathe. Hope your weekend is how you want it as well!

  18. Bbs machine makes no inferences as to the quality of the experience. Devil always lurking as details.
  19. That wouldn't surprise me at all. Last summer when I was using Arko for blade trials over several months I was getting 3 months off of a single stick, or I had calculated I would at least. So yeah, 90 shaves shouldn't be an issue. Still probably the best value in soap out there.
