SOTD: Rainy Monday morning shave using this hefty Sheffield 7/8" wedge from Marshes & Shepherd (1840); Soap Commander 'Honor' soap and matching mentholated balm, Sterling 'Kong' synthetic brush. This M&S is my heaviest razor and rather intimidating. Like the keenly-sharp kamisori, this razor requires your full attention. The reward, however, is an extremely close, smooth shave. Last time I used the Dr. Selby, I thought it had maybe 2 shaves left in the container. Well, I'm looking at it and saying maybe 2/3 more. We'll see. So I'm ready to go. Now go enjoy your day folks.
No it is not a bay rum scent at all. I get more of warm buttered rum cocktail over a base of woody notes. The scent dissipates shortly after the shave so Bay Rum aftershave was one I went with.
Gillette New Deluxe Bulldog Handle Rapira Swedish Supersteel (1) Semogue BC Mistura Institut Karite Soap Alum Superior 70 Recently, I have been using a Tech for long enough that this felt a little foreign, like driving someone's car for the first time. Just slightly more aggressive than the tech, I was near done after the first pass, but had a brush full of lather and did a second pass. It was a nice comfortable shave.
I love that bowl. That's a great stain color, smooth sanded finish and it just looks like refined class.

So just me n'the kid this morning. Time for a slow SR monday. Granddad's restored brush, MMM,snd yhe diamond edge. Three passes, great results. Finished with Proraso.
