Thanks Doug-it's a long story to get into, but I'll just say it was an issue that upset her. She's the same physically, so no worries there, but she needs family these days.
#53 -Irving Barber -Vie Long White Horse -Stirling Glacial Lemon Orange -Stirling Orange Chill A new Feather went into Irving today, and that first shave is always lacking just a bit in the smooth department, but it definitely gets rid of stubble. I am one smooth unicorn.
Thank you Clint-it was Rise&Stirling Sandpiper sampler today at her house-a COLD WATER shave, as the HW ran out right at the end of my shower.
Thanks Jared for the head's up. I have been trading days with Stirling Pacienza and I was red in the face after that shave too but I think it was more due to a bit heavy on the razor pressure. I have 9 Stirling samples, a TOBS Sandalwood and an AOS unscented so if the soap is the issue, it should be easy to figure out I would think.
Nice photo and love the lather. How was the Stirling Lemony Orange? Is it heavy on menthol? They do still make that or is it a seasonal thing?
Oh, I'll still be checking in, she has an IPad there, and in fact right now I am at home, while my sister came down for a few hours.
Beautiful photo. I was looking on Gifts and Care website and noted that Vie-Long has some very nice looking horse hair brushes.
It is a VERY cold soap. The Lemony Orange is a discontinued scent, this was a special mentholated run. I have a list started that I need to get fired up again soon, to get people to speak for a tub. If I can get enough people interested to sell most of a batch, I am sure he'll make one for us. Similar to the Glacial Margaritas in the Arctic I asked him to do last year. O The lemon orange combo is, IMO, the best citrus he makes. The two go so well together, and the orange tempers the menthol better than the lemon, but doesn't drown the lemon out. Excellent soap.
I just want to know why are you whipping egg whites in your shaving bowl?Orange handled brush and the scent from that soap it looks good enough to eat.
SOTD February 20, 2017 Blade: Kai Captain Mild Razor: RazoRock Black Hawk Brush: Vie Long horse/synthetic blend Lather: Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic Post: Witch hazel splash, TSD Iced Yin Yang WTG, touch-up Nice and easy menthol Monday edition with Stirling MITA. Beautiful lather and nice, cooling experience with the soap. One pass with touch-up for a smooth shave with the Black Hawk. Iced Yin Yang added another layer of cooling for a nice shave. Have a great day!
They do. I want to get one of the "poor man's chubbies". I have had the best luck with horse brushes that have a short loft, white hair, and in fan. These are a 26x50 fan, and I want one.
Last Travel SOTD. I'm packing up to head home for a week. It's been a great week of straight shaves. Not even a weeper this trip. Ogallala Bay Rum Shave Stick AoS Pure Badger Brush Jacob Ray El Diablo Razor Ogallala Bay Rum, Sage & Cedar AS Have fun!
