Today's Shave Gillette Fatboy set to 6 New Astra blade Parker finest badger brush Fine Accouterments Italian Citrus shave soap Fine Accouterments Italian Citrus aftershave splash Aqua di Parma Colonia I have the soap sitting in the bottom of my shave mug and whipped up a lather right on the puck. The Fine soaps are relatively new to me, but lather extremely easily with an acceptable density and are relatively slick. One pass WTG and another pass XTG with the Fatboy set to 6 and a new blade made for a DFS in no time flat. The soap, aftershave splash and cologne is really world class.
I guess it was time for a bloody shave Things were going fine until I nicked my nose with the heel of the razor. I was just being careless. I followed up with a weeper on the cheek. It's been a long time since I needed to use a styptic pencil. I guess this was a reminder not to rush. Every time I draw blood I'm in a hurry. Thank you Jim! It's a tough job, and I'm pleased to do it. Actually the "job" part isn't that difficult. If I was a 15 year old technosavant there would be nothing to learn. I recall when our Chris @Bama Samurai got bumped up. He's still the same steely eyed leader he was before, but with a sharper sword. Same here. Except for a banner under my avatar, a couple extra buttons on my interface, and my occasional DoH! I'm just an old Boy Scout looking to do my good deeds.
February Fat Boy Focus Proraso White, Omega Pro 98 '59 Fat Boy, Personna Lab Blue Alum, Proraso Refresh Lotion Green Tea & Oat sounds weird, but I like the scent. The soap performs well, too. Easy to lather, plenty slick, good staying power. Never had any problems with the reported issues of leaving residue on hardware. Big bore boar brush and suribachi bowl to contain the suds, good old Gillette to do the work. As much as I enjoy using a #195 it's more been my diversion than focus. I've stuck with it all month and plan to follow through. Today's efforts yielded hoped for DFS+ with no unexpected issues. Nearly quiet alum followed by a minty lotion finish. Good Shaves Y'all!
Doug, I notice you don't have a CT yet. @Queen of Blades, I think Insane Shaving Dude would be a nice fit.
Razor: Timeless .95 OC w/Timeless Knurled Handle Blade: Personna 74 Tungsten Steel (21) Brush: Shavemac Zebra Honeycomb 2 Band Soap: Reef Point Soap Tranquility Aftershave: Folsom & Co. Capri Bowl: Junichi Tanaka Scuttle My usual 3 passes with touch up and ended up with a near BBS. For me this is a great combination of shaving gear. I get a close comfortable shave each and every time. Can't believe this Personna Tungsten Steel blade is still going strong.
Beautiful photo Doug. The way it's going you might get 30 shaves out of the Personna 74. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was thinking I would use my single edges at the end of this month, but I'm not sure now. The Timeless .95 OC is so darn efficient. I see Timeless has a new handle out.
