well, she "released" me from overnights with her, and her first two nights alone were fine. It may be time for some professional help, but for now I stepped up my role of medication monitoring and taking her on errands. Someone from her town's Council On Aging will meet with her soon to go over their services that could help her. Thanks for your concern .
23 February 2017 Blade/Focus Shave For today I pulled Stone Cottage Soapworks Bay Lime Cream. Using the 10098 and the dry brush technique I had my best lather with this soap to date. Very slick and the protection was outstanding! The 7 o'clock Green continues it's fine preformance with no sign of drop off. At this point I'd have to say it's ahead of the GSB and miles ahead of the Feather. However the Voskhod waits in the wings. I sense a three way tie. This would nesesitate an all Russian shave off. Hot/Cold rinse, cold towel, Dominello Vitali and a generous splash of VIBR finished off a most excellent WWS. Have a great Thursday people of the Den!
Razor: Supply Provision Custom 2 dot head Blade: Chick Brush: RazoRock Tri-color Soap: Maggard Tobacco and Leather Post Care: Thayers Witch Hazel Osage Rub Alum Aftershave: WSP Blackbeard with menthol This was my first try of Maggard soaps and it was very good. It had everything you would want; easy lather, slick, good protection, nice scent. I didn't get much of the tobacco off the puck or during the lather, it's all leather. It has however blended nicely with the Blackbeard AS. The Supply Provision Custom was perfect, my other razors are just going to collect dust. Have a great day folks!
I totally agree about the soap. That's all I got from it too, was leather. New leather jacket smell. Totally agree about the razor too.
I've been away from the forum for awhile so I was going to try and catch up. Man.....I don't remember a focus ever being this big! It might take me all morning but I'm slowly reading through following everybody's progress. Sent from my SM-T550 using Tapatalk
@Paul Turner , good luck with your mom. Praying that you find a solution that works for her as well as you.
Thank you, Clint! That is the blade gap on 1. I'll take a comparison photo this evening between 1 and Neal.
That is a beautiful picture Clint? Did you take that with a phone? The focus at different depths is awesome.
Feb 23,2017 '52 Canadian Tech w Polsilver (3) Stirling Barbershop sample TGN nylon/Mahogany handle Thayers/Nivea sensitive balm Day 9 of the humble Tech focus. Day 3 with Polsilver. Another great Stirling lather with this synthetic that is fast becoming a favourite. Went a little quickly this morning and am now feeling a few 'not so perfect' spots 90 minutes later that I didn't do a good enough job on. Still a nice shave with one tiny weeper. Will use the Polsilver one more day and then move on. Have a great day all!
February 23, 2017 Razor: F2 Gillette 195 Adjustable (4) Blade: German Wilkie (5) Brush: Cremo by Vie-Long Horsehair Soap: Arko Great lather from the Arko once I got it hydrated enough. Like Neal, I'm also rocking the German WS blade. I hadn't used one in a while and really don't remember why as they are really a very nice blade at a great price. All-in-all another great shave.
Thank you Jared. The photo was taken with a Cannon Rebel DSLR in flash off setting. I have found with this setting photos in the house it has a very narrow field of focus. Outside the same setting results in a greater field of focus. I went ahead and took all the photos for next week using the new iPhone so it will be interesting comparing the difference.
I think I finally have the ATG pass figured out. I'm thinking it isn't really necessary as I'm perfectly happy with two pass shaves. I'll continue to experiment. Stubble Trubble Pirate Cowboy Soap Wolf Whiskers Brush Henckels Friodur 72 1/2 Razor Alum Lucky Tiger Ogallala Bay Rum, Sage and Cedar AS Have fun!
