  1. Fantastic picture. Sounds like a first rate company with great customer service.
  2. Nice razor! You and I have similar thoughts when it comes to spares.
  3. Razor: Timeless .95 OC w/Timeless Knurled Handle

    Soap: Reef Point Soap Tranquility

Early shave as a result of a meeting tonight. I had 3 passes with no clean up for a close comfortable shave.

  4. Another great photo of a nice set up in beautiful scenery!
  5. Thanks very much Jim.
  6. Another shave with the Rocca today. What I learned this month is that I could live with it as my only razor. But that would be boring, and I would miss the variety.

Anyway, I do recommend the Rocca razor
  7. Doug, you just keep topping yourself every day.
  8. Thanks guys. My den clearing funds have been burning something of a proverbial hole in my Paypal acct.

I would likely do better with no buys if they started in The spring. Every year I clear out the den after Christmas, then end up buying all kinds of new stuff on my list.

  10. Nice brush, I have the 3 band version. Great minds think alike

Day 4 and wrap up with Shavemac silver tip in zebra beehive:

Today is the hard soap challenge with Tabac. The brush despite is soft tips and while not floppy, backbone is not one of the words I would you use to describe this brush. Still it had no problem producing copious amounts of wonderful lather. Today's hardware is a DOC Evolution loaded with a fresh Iridium Super.

All seem right with the world and everyone worked as the should. After 4 passes I was surprised at 3 weepers and irritation, at least I was dolphin smooth. The brush has performed admirably and was rewarded with a soak in weak vinegar and is not put up to rest.

  12. Insane SOTD photo, Doug! :innocent
  13. February Diversion from Focus

    Soap Commander Wisdom, JR #130
    Gillette Fat Handle Tech, Wilkinson
    Alum, Shulton Old Spice AS

The Soap Pass Around landed at a post office near me. I had to go pick it up before they loaded it on another truck and took another day. Soap Commander has been making the rounds lately so when I spotted a sample of Wisdom it got chosen. Peppermint & Lavender scented, easy lathering, slick and lasting - I could get to liking this product.

Popped a fresh Wilkie into a collection of vintage parts for a 3 piece all Gillette frankenrazor experience. I have the ball end handle that came with the cap & base, but the fat handle is better for my fat fingered grip. Three easy passes yielded CCS bordering on DFS. Alum was quiet, and the old Old Spice is good while it lasts.
    Good Shaves Y'all!
  14. Looks like a fine shave. Soap Commander rocks!

  16. February 23 (Thursday) - evening Fatboy refresher

    Gillette Fatboy on 3 / Voskhod ( 4)
    Kent woodhandled boar brush
The Eternal Tub of TOBS Avocado Cream ( croap )
Alum and Thayers Witch Hazel Aftershave

It's less than a day since my last shave but I had a lot of stubble - the Fendrihan Scientist did better at removing skin than whiskers on its last outing. I therefore shaved a second time this evening, this time using a Voskhod in my Fatboy set on an extremely mild and comfortable 3.

It was a great shave. Zero irritation even in the spots where the Fendrihan Scientist gave me weepers this morning, and a near BBS finish. The Fatboy was a positive pleasure to use.

As for the Fendrihan Scientist, it is now packed up awaiting shipment to its new home tomorrow.
  17. FYI- was just on the Fendrihan website, and it looks like they have just released milder(so they say), closed comb versions of their 3 stainless razors, including the Scientist. You can get just the head as well, if you were thinking of not moving yours along. Sounds like you are ready to PIF it, though!
  18. I saw your name pop up when I first checked in this morning. Good to see you again! Yeah, this month has been off the charts. Just a follow up to last month's which was definitely tops as well. Jump back in anytime! We've missed you!
  19. Well, I've never had any complaints. :innocent
  20. I should show this blade a bit more love as well.
