At the time I posted this I was working the VCP(Vehicle Control Point), an 8 ft high, 6 ft long, 4 ft wide metal box with a desk, chair, two heaters and a crappy AM/FM radio. Clouds optional.
We've got from a severe drought to flooding in a blink of an eye. I've never seen this much damage from Mother Nature, not even from an earthquake. Reservoirs overflowing, creeks clogging up and spilling over in entire neighborhoods.
Here in Suffolk, UK. Wind gusts of over 70mph and power outages as power lines went down or were hit by trees. All calm now.
Here in the Pacific Northwest, a bit of snow on the ground early this morning - now gone. Temperature around 42 deg F and sunny. This time of year - if you don't like the weather - wait 10 minutes - it will change. To you good folks from the UK. I have been doing some genealogy work on my family tree. I thought my family was originally from Scotland. Now it appears we got our start in Stoke Gabriel in Devonshire, UK. First family member came over in 1633. Stoke Gabriel looks like a very beautiful and peaceful place.
61 and sunny here in Central NJ. Probably gonna hit 75. For late February, I'll take it. But I have a sneaking suspicion we're gonna pay for it in March.
I have been looking at the area on the internet - being a history buff I find it all very interesting. This genealogy research gets pretty difficult once you trace it back to before the 1600s. Looks like the first confirmed appearance of my family name in Stoke Gabriel was in 1580. There is some evidence stating the family was well established before that but the written records get pretty sparse.
Tuesday, it was over 60 degrees. Wednesday, Thursday, and today, it's been snowing. Six inches of the stuff on my truck when I left for work this morning.
Today was 81 with clear blue skies in the Midlands of SC. Fired up the grill and enjoyed some outdoor time. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
I've e njoyed wearing short-sleeve shirts-yesterday, today, and will tomorrow too. Record highs still here in Boston area.
28 and clear here in Central NJ. I'm up before the dog for a change. I should wake the little bas...guy up and take him for a walk. Supposed to be going up to 57 today. Later in the week it's supposed to hit 75!
