  3. Great looking brush. Envy White Knots are just fantastic and paired with such a handle your brush is special.
  4. Fantastic Jim. Enjoy the time while you can because it goes by so quickly.

Like Jared my baby girl will be a high school senior next year. So it won't be long before my wife and I will be empty nesters for most of each year.

  5. Beautiful Mark. Maybe you could post a review of the Evolution after several uses.
  6. Closer. :)
  7. Great picture. MWF certainly had a learning curve for me.
  8. Adam, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
  9. What a thoughtful gift. Given the size of Soap Commander tubs, you'll enjoy the gift for many many shaves.

    School's out
Non-shaving day for yours truly. But I did consign the Green to the blade bank, clean the Parker 99r and load up a Voskhod in preparation for tomorrow's shave. Have a great Saturday all!
  11. You are a "man with an advanced plan" :).
  12. "Thank you, thank you very much."
  13. Y'know, every time Elvis said that thank you thing, crowds should have come back with "Don't mention it", or "No skin off my back", or, of course, "You're welcome".

    Mongoose B2 with Triad Ti
    Feather Pro Super (14)
Rubberset 400 #3 with WSP HWM
    Route 66 Rum Runner
    Fine Fresh Vetiver

Today ends my 2 week run with the Mongoose, and the week with the Rum Runner/Rubberset 400 combo. It has really been a series of consistently excellent smooth shaves. This shave this morning was just one more in the string. Three passes and minimal touch ups ending in a near BBS which is more than good enough.

My plans for today are to service the motorcycle and get it ready for more regular use. I am thinking an oil and filter change along with a changing the rear drive fluid will be good progress without stressing the back to much. It will also be a perfect time to add a much needed accessory to the bike. I received an exceptionally thoughtful gift from a 30 day crew member.

It is a Guardian Bell meant as protection against motorcycle gremlins. You see motorcycle gremlins love to ride but many believe they love to cause trouble as well such as the minivan that crosses your path, the oil patch on the road or the unexpected break down. The bell is meant to prevent the gremlins from getting on the bike and causing trouble. The powers of the bell work no matter you buys it but the power is multiplied if it received as a gift from another rider. I know he is modest but I wanted to thank a fellow rider, TSD member and friend, Jared @PickledNorthern for such as thoughtful gift. The bell will be attached today and will accompany me on my riding adventures going forward.

  16. Razor: Supply Provision Custom 2 dot head
    Blade: Chick
    Brush: RazoRock Tri-color
    Soap: B&M Roam
    Post Care: Thayers Witch Hazel
    Osage Rub
    Alum
    Aftershave: B&M Roam

Birthday shave! I've been saving the samples I was generously given by @youngunn for this morning's shave. I've wanted to try Roam for quite a while now and finally got my hands on some samples. I now understand. The scent is amazing with the typical B&M quality. I got a smoky, pine tar and vanilla scent from the soap. The AS is more smoke with earth, grass and herbs. Hard to describe but wonderful. My search for full sized products goes forth.

I've been wet shaving almost exactly a year now. I would have never thought something I used to despise can now bring so much joy. It's been a fun journey and there are too many people I need to thank for their advice, gifts, encouragement and friendship. The people of TSD are wonderful. Have a great day folks!

On a weekend trip - no picture today. Going to some Mardi Gras parades today in Mobile, Alabama. Mobile is the original home of Mardi Gras celebrations in the US, even though New Orleans gets all the press. The parades in Mobile are family friendly and lots of fun.

The shave was fine. One pass for a decent shave that's good enough for today. Hope you all have a great day!
  19. Terrific, Clint! Thanks for sharing. Jared (@PickledNorthern) is a great guy and a good friend to all of us.
  20. I have almost got March's focus figured out. I am going to do a month long tourney of shaving brushes. I will give a week to each category: Two Bands, Three Bands, Synthetic and split a week with boar/horse. I have five boars that are broken in, and only two horses worthy of competing, so it will round out a week perfectly.

With such a wide variety competing, it is very difficult to make apples to apples comparisons. I am working on a scoring system where I will rate each brush in various categories, and give it an overall score. The categories will vary from everything to backbone to how aesthetically pleasing it is to me, so the end results will simply be a subjective score based on my overall enjoyment of the brush. That way, a boar can compete with a badger etc, and cost is somewhat eliminated from the equation. Maybe I will learn something I didn't know.

At the end of the 28 days, I will take the top three and re-play them to determine a winner.

Work travel could push this into April. I am kind of stoked to get started on this!
