i just wanted to share my Wednesday Shave with you. Here is my setup:


Razor: Olyfa---Blade: Derby Premium---Soap: Meißner Tremonia Himalayan Heights---Brush: Markus Herber---Aftershave: Meißner Tremonia Himalayan Heights---Post-Shave: Olive Oil

Another great shave. The Olyfa is a very gentle, but toroughly razor. I love the Art-Deco Design. The Derby Blade is still as sharp and gentle as on it´s first use. An impressing blade. My skin loves the Himalayan Heights soap and Aftershave. All in all it couldn´t get much better.

Höðr Woody Wednesday
This was my first use of this scent, but not my first Soap Smooth experience. The lather is top level in every respect. Plenty of residual slickness for touch-ups. The scent is that of a pine forest, perhaps what the pine cleaners try to achieve, but nothing artificial smelling here. No drama in three passes on six. The balm is very thick and creamy, so a little goes a long way. It leaves my skin soft and moisturizes well. Soap Smooth does not get the attention it deserves.

My face feels like it was in a freezer all night after using the Glacial Wintergreen trio. The soap lathered like a maniac, the aftershave balm moisturized and soothed my skin so well, and a couple of splashes of the witch hazel felt almost painfully-cold, but in a good way. Smooth as silk and ready to go!

Nice shave this morning. Went with Route 66 Perfect Storm and the Surrey brush again this morning. Great lather - easy to produce, slick, etc. All the good stuff you want in a soap. The Featherweight was comfortable and efficient. Finished with witch hazel and a little cooling effect from Iced Barber Shoppe.

SOTD: First March shave and a first using this newly-honed 5/8" full-hollow vintage Clauss razor. Valobra menthol soap, Omega #627 silvertip brush, and Muelhens 4711 aftershave. Light, noisy razor with a comfortable-to-hold tang... no complaints!

Day 7 of 30 days of straights

Three good passes today, all with the appropriate angle on the blade. I did get a light cut on the ATG pass, but nothing serious, mainly because I counted the cuts on my face and they total 9. I am guessing this means I don't quite have the technique down. Still, it was a closer and more comfortable shave than yesterday. Any improvement is good.
