I'm afraid you're going to have to swap. That box is full!

I should have done this. You are quite right about nose burn.

I did the same thing. I put the ones I didn't like aside and came back later or the next day and pulled a few because the smell was better than I thought the day before. Kind of like wine tasting, you gotta reset your taste buds before moving on.

It would be great to continue this passaround, even after this current volume 2. We have just had so many issues in the past. I'm glad everyone is enjoying this one

I hope to keep it going once this version finishes. Let the dust settle and then open it back up again. Volume 2 has exploded when compared to Volume 1!!

I was the first stop in Volume 1, and I can verify that statement! I think there were six soaps, if memory serves.

Yeah, five or six soaps is right. I pulled those from my den to get it going. Volume 2 was aided by some very generous TSD members who sent me soaps to include without asking for any type of recognition. Plus the vendor soaps turned out to be a huge hit. Yet another reason why this is the best shaving forum!

Looking through my samples, I wanted to try out something special. MdC is highly spoken of so it was chosen. I diverged from my normal bowl lather only having a small sample from the Pass Around. Splashed warm water on my face and rubbed a chip of soap on two days growth of stubble. Moistened High Mountain badger brought up a respectable lather quickly. I noticed a good bit of residual slickness during chin buffing and the scent is plentiful. This soap is better than average. If I recall it's a long lasting hard soap, but pricey. Glad I got to take it for a test shave.

Mdc is a soap that just has all positives for me. Super easy lathering, great cushion, phenomenal post shave moisturizing and face feel, great slickness, and incredible scents. It is pricey without a doubt, but it just lasts forever and forever. It will always have a place in my den.

Decided to have a Menthol Monday on Tuesday, since Stirling was number next in my samples from The Box. After wetting my face I rubbed the croap around and face lathered. Took a second dose of soap to raise a decent lather. I'm out of practice face lathering and I'm not loading from a puck. Acceptable residual slickness for clean up passes. Nice dose of cooling menthol that I carried over after alum by applying Osage Rub. A splash of Florida Water to keep the citrus scent going. Pleasant experience all the way around.

The good news is if you get a sample from each product you'll have two months of soap to try. Down side - the box evolves as it passes hands. If there's something someone is trading out and you want a sample SPEAK UP!
Any Florida Water Fans had a chance to try the tub I dropped in?

My next sample from The Pass-around Box was a vegan soap scented tobacco leaf, amber, & vanilla. In keeping with my newly adopted procedure I wet my face using the moistened brush and rubbed the soap on stubble to load. The Maggards knot in this cypress handle made quick work of raising a decent lather. On the sweet side because of the vanilla note, the tobacco is very much present. Great scent as the lather took on more water, nice glide for the very sharp Japanese blade. Finished with a deeper tobacco & leather AS/cologne that complimented well.

Crowne & Crane Tobacco Leaf & Amber is definitely on my buy-list! I found it to be a great scent with great performance.

Nice to be on the receiving end of a box.tour, the box has landed. The smell of the box without opening it is intoxicating. The person who has a parcel in the parcel bin is going definitely have a lingering aroma.

Wow, incredible variety of soap surprisingly no duplicates. A good percentage of them are from lesser known vendors.

I have made my first look see through the box and smell test. Several soaps really stood out initially.

I promise not to let the box stay too long before I move it along.

Hats off to PLAla for organizing this box and contacting the vendors.
