  4. In the Italian areas of eastern PA, it's known as "Sunday Gravy" and is typically a tomato sauce with a variety of meats braised or simmered in. Meatballs, veal shanks, chicken pieces, and sausages are the usual suspects. If you are ever invited to an Italian family's home for Sunday gravy, I suggest you accept the invite, wear loose pants, and be on your best behavior so as to be invited back!
  5. That's what I'm talkin' about!!

  6. Just threw together lunch out of the pantry.

    10" cast iron skillet

    2 cans Van Camp's chili
1 can Campbells Chunky Baked Beans w/Chicken
1 can Hanover chili beans w/sauce
4 chopped up nitrate-free hot dogs
    1 tbsp nutritional yeast
black pepper, onion flakes, ground garlic, basil and chives

Not bad. Would add sage if I had it. Cornbread would go good with this too.
  7. Oh baby I'm hungry now!

  8. Had some, then sprinkled shredded mex cheese on top, broiled the skillet for a few minutes. Shoulda thought of that sooner. Also made cornbread.

  9. Y'all want gravy, come to Texas. It's what we put on biscuits and chicken fried steak. Sauce is what we put on barbeque.
  10. Pan fried tilapia
    Creamy garlic shells with mussels
    Steamed asparagus

This is how my son and I eat when the wife and girls are out of the house. Last weekend they were gone and we had colossal shrimp with mushrooms.

The wife will eat shrimp and crabs, but other seafood if out. My daughter's are very selective in the seafood they will eat

I will however eat just about anything seafood related. I love catching rockfish and fileting it for dinner that night. My son follows my footsteps so he will try anything I will eat.

  12. Well, it won't be corned beef and cabbage I can tell ya. Herself used to be into "theme" dinners. So St. Patty's Day would be you know CB&C. Well, after about five years of that when we were first married, I said "Nix". I'm not sure what she has in mind. But it'll be good.

  13. My mom made either corned beef and cabbage or Irish stew for St. Patrick's day, but I haven't had either since a few years before she passed away. I'll have to make some one of these days...
  14. The shells with mussels looks great. Recipe?
  15. As many mussels as you want steamed, and.......

  17. Yes sir. Saw the mussels and wanted them and with some quick thinking and my love of garlic, it came together. Never done it like that before, but I'll do it again.

  18. Corned beef and cabbage.
  19. Knorr rocks. Try their Four-cheese Pasta with shrimp.

As for my supper, it's Tyson chicken nuggets with KC Masterpiece bbq sauce and Ore-Ida crinkle-cut fries with Hunt's ketchup, washed down with some strawberry flavored HEB bottled water.
