    I hate to sound ignorant.. but oh well.

    What is it? How do you use it? And why do you need slurry when you hone?

    It is basically a diamond file. On some natural stones you need to scrape off some of the stone. When that happens the little pieces roll around between the blade and the actual stone. This process removes metal from the blade. The finer the slurry the better polish and sharper the razor.

    I hauled a ~ barbasol non floating head razor. I think thats what it, looks fantastic.

    The difference only being a channel just inside the comb. At least thats my understanding of the difference.

    Someone who knew I liked safety razors gave it to me. I'm a happy camper.

    That was my understanding too. Enjoy. I had a handful of them at different times and really liked them. They are great shavers, but are more aggressive than I can tolerate on a daily basis any more.
