  1. Your right Jim. When you do get it loaded it is a good shave as you said.

    Prep: RazoRock Mister Joe
    Razor: Gillette Fat Handle Tech
    Blade: Gillette Green
    Brush: Maggard 24mm synthetic
    Soap: Grandstaff Amyris
Post: Stirling Gentlemen balm, Van Yulay Colonia

Had another smooth shave. This Grandstaff soap has been working out great. You can either have a drier lather or a fully hydrated lather. It seems to hold a lot of water without breaking down. Still can't believe this blade is still ticking it's been so many shaves I lost count. Finished off with Stirling Gentlemen balm and in the evening I splashed on some Colonia from Van Yulay or Shaving Shop, whichever you prefer. Hope everyone enjoyed their shave!
  6. Wednesday shave...
Decided to try out one of the samples I had laying around in the cabinet. This is more of a soft soap so I went with the badger brush and went with a face lather. I think next time I'll load up pretty heavy and try a bowl lather to see how it works. Very interesting scent...

  7. Luxor Pro shavette
    Shark Super Stainless blade
    Whipped Dog synthetic brush
    Nivea Sensitive shaving cream
    Pinaud Clubman aftershave
  8. What is that growing on the soap??
  9. I think it must be one of the ingredients. I've only had this for a couple weeks so I doubt it's anything that could be labeled "science experiment." Or at least I hope, LOL

  12. And that's why I have never enjoyed Bleu Cheese. But the scent description of the soap sounds good; notes of woodsy smokey laurel leaf at the top of this fragrance, leading midnotes of cedar leaf and bottom notes of oak moss, pine, Sandalwood and Patchouli.
  13. March Madness & Spring Cleaning!!

    March 22

    Razor -Feather SS
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
Soap - Route 66 Sweeney Todd
Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip
    Post - Alum

The first day of my week is over and went by pretty uneventfully. That's both a good and a bad thing. No problems but no sales to put some bucks in the pocket. No worries. It happens. The second shave with the Feather SS was accompanied by Route 66 and the Wolf. Rich, luxurious lather and feel from the high end Silvertip really made the entire experience relaxing and even felt a bit decadent. The Feather SS with the Pro blade was as smooth as I can remember and seemed totally effortless. A very nice DFS was the result of two passes and cleanup that felt more like a quick one pass. I was actually a bit disappointed I didn't need another full pass.

A great way to end the start of my week. The Zen of shaving baby. I need to relax and let it find me more often!

Looks like Spring is going to try and make it in to stay here now. The forecast is for upper 60s and lower 70s through Friday then about 10 days of rain. Looks like the Spring flooding season is about upon the Missouri/Mississippi River basin. Should be hearing frogs by the time it's done.
