    Dove Men Face Wash
    Col. Conk Amber Shave Soap
    Jayaruh #150
    Gem G-Bar
    CVS SE
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayer's Lemon WH
    Speick AS

The Col. Conk Amber Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #150 synthetic brush. I did two passes the Gem G-Bar razor and a CVS SE blade, I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Speick AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

  4. Tonight's shave was with a problem child of a rescue razor. The Surgical Black Arkie solved that. Very smooth 2 pass shave, with Dolphin smooth results.

Wonderful shave today! It had been a while since I used the Gillette, and it performed much better than I remember. Hope your day is going well too.

  6. Thanks. It is in fine shape due to living in its original case.

I don't find the Type B to be aggressive at all, although getting proper blade takes a bit to get used to.

Mickey Lee Soapworks has been absent from den up until now. I have no excuse, and it's too bad because I've been missing out. A dense creamy lather is very easy to achieve and it arrives rather promptly. The residual slickness is near perfect, but MLS excels in the post-shave department. My face and scalp are soft, supple, and well hydrated.

Réunion is an excellent example of a non-smoky vetiver well-seated in damp earth. The unfolding nears the cusp of murkiness without becoming muddy or dirty. It holds fast to the original green notes and sustains them throughout.

The splash provides a nice alcohol sear, and the fragrance matches the soap well. The longevity of the splash is about 4 hours. There's nothing particularly daring about Réunion, and that's fine with me. It's simply a welcoming classic vetiver fragrance that's likely to please the masses. It just happens to be loaded into an outstanding soap base. Now that I've tried the safe, I think I'm going to pick up Drunken Goat.

Ok, I'm going to say this in spite of the fact I know I'm effectively setting a trap, jinx, bomb, whatever out in front of me. This was, in my opinion, the best shave I've done with a pain stick. Ever. It was too easy, in fact. Makes me wonder what's in store for me the next time I use it. Smooth, effective. two passes for a DFS on a wonderfully slick and protective lather. It really is hard to imagine it going any better. The past two shaves have both been almost automatic. I'm thinking when this string of luck breaks it might break with major injury. Or else I'm just that good. Yeah, well, I can always dream, right?

  15. Beautiful finish on the Slim. Is it original? Replated?
  16. Wonderful photo. I have to pick up one of those handles when they come back in stock.

  17. Thank you! I got it replated in Rhodium a few years back. It was one of my grandfather's old ones.

  18. That is an odd looking soap. Very interesting. Almost like blue cheese! I never saw a soap like that. How would you describe the scent?
