Oh, and I absolutely love this brush. The tips are super soft but the fibers have a bit of springyness to them that really give it some good backbone. The knot is a bit smaller at 22mm but is able to whip up a great lather and has no problems letting go it.

Sounds like a good soap. Out of curiosity, why do you feel the protection isn't as good as Stirling when you had increased slickness and less irritation? Was there something else lacking when compared to Stirling?

I may have cracked the code on my Omega Pro 49. As you know I've never been able to get a great lather with it, but last night I decided I'd give it one more shot to produce or it would be out the door. This time I only soaked the brush for about one minute and then I slung it until no more water came out. I grabbed the Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic and loaded it like it owed me money. The brush was very sticky and gnarly looking. I took it to my face and nothing happened. No soap transfer whatsoever. Normally I would lightly dip the tips of the brush into water and work it in gradually but this time I dunked the whole thing into the sink and started lathering. To my surprise it was working. A couple of more slam dunks and I had a nice creamy lather going, but I have been able to get one pass out of it before so I was holding judgment for the moment. I finished my WTG pass, rinsed and grabbed the brush again. Holy Cow! It was giving up more creamy luxurious lather. Second pass done and went for the brush again. No change. Easily applying a thick coat, no breakdown. When I finished, I squeezed out the brush and had enough lather to shave Chewbacca's hairy cousin. It's a triumph of perseverance. Guess I'll try it again to see if I can duplicate the results and if so, I'll have to give it a place in the rotation.

Bite your tounge. We just hit fifties this week, and the snow is almost gone. It is 48 degrees today and my wife is out on the deck right now in a swimsuit. I would take a pic to show you, but I can't afford to pay for a divorce right now.

Fall. #*€¥$! I haven't even taken the cover off my boat yet. Course, on Monday this guy didn't seem to care about ice or not. He got in on the river somewhere, and is fishing on about an acre of open water.
My wife sent me this pic while I was working. Definitely the first boat out on Lake Bemidji this year.

Talk to me about Cocoa Forest..... It is one of the few from its generation I haven't tried.

It's another one of those soaps that gets lost in my drawer, and when I use it, I always wonder why I don't use it more often. It is a complex scent with some definite cocoa smell, but not like a hot chocolate. More like cocoa powder. Then a piney, woodsy scent comes through. It sounds a bit odd, but the two just meld together so well. Like a lot of Stirling scents, it lasts for a bit.

Most of them will fade. At least til I tan up this summer, then probably I am hosed.

It cooled off here today after a few storms yesterday. It has been hot, and it only froze a handful of times this year. We had a long fall, and no winter. Summer in SE Texas is going to be brutal. Especially for this northern NM mountain boy.

I managed to make it through three passes with this razor without shedding, dripping or weeping any blood, so I will call it a victory. It isn't much different than using a square point at the toe, but it is the first time I have shaved with a razor that wasn't rounded at the heel. That isn't a problem, but it feels different. Super awesome for the sides of the goatee though. Instant edging on a WTG downstroke.

The brush and razor make a great matching pair.
