I finally settled on "5" for my Fat Boy. I use "6" on the Slim. You will have to be patient on the "74's", but deals are out there.

    Friday

Prep: Warm Shower-Stirling Bath Soap-Scots Pine Sheep
    Soap: TOBS Avocado Cream
    Razor: Gillette Fat Boy
Blade: Vintage Personna 74 Tungsten (6)
Brush: Bethlehem Olivewood/Whipped Dog High Mountain-24mmx50mm
    Aftershave: Stirling Executive Man

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

TOBS Avocado today. 20 seconds to load the Bethlehem Olivewood/WD High Mountain. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Personna 74 Tungsten still in the Fat Boy. Excellent smooth, close shave. I finished with Stirling Executive Man aftershave.

Shake Sharp-O-Rama. The De Haven with its old blade was good for DFS on the beard, Shake Sharp v2 an easy BBS head shave. DIY oil. [IMG]

Jeeves of Hudson Street - "Turkish Bath"

Based on prior use, I already knew I wasn't a fan of the "Turkish Bath" fragrance. It's just too powdery for me. It's not offensive, mind you, but rather it's simply not my style. This is a testament to the performance of Jeeves' soap that I continue to use it. Frankly, I have too many soaps. Regardless of fragrance, Jeeves is not one that will get pushed to the back, but I do intend to replace "Turkish Bath" with "Black Tea" that's currently on the way. The creaminess and density of the lather is on par with my other favorites that's probably about 5 soap bases. The post-shave is in my top 3. The residual slickness, however, may yet be number 1.

I finished with Le Grand Chypre because it's one of my favorites and it counters the Turkish Bath quite well.

The "Streamline" is firmly seated as my all-time favorite shaver. I've been alternating between a first generation (1930s) and a second generation (1950s), and I've come to the conclusion that the second generation is a skosh more forgiving. While the first generation weighs a few grams more than the second, I can't tell it in my hand. This is the consummate shaver in my book. This was a flawless head and face shave.

To open April, here's my shave plan:

    prep-Dial 4 Men Bodywash-"Ultimate Clean".
    shave-TSD Lanolin Soap(Russian Leather)
    brush-Burma Shave*
    razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot Disposeable**
    A.S.-TSD Splasb(Russian Leather)

*-now that the Russian Leather puck is near the bottom, I hope I can get an equally successful loading action with the Burma Shave as was the case with the WSP Pure Badger today.

**-y'know, I feel like calling the Pivot fellas and asking if they got rid of the Pivot plus.

April is going to be Anything DE but Gillette month for me with the exception of Saturdays, when I will continue my straight journey. For April 1, my Dad's birthday, I will be using my H. Böker 5/8. He would have been 103 years old. I still miss him.

    Florida Water

The L'OCCITANE Cade Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh TSD boar brush. I did two passes the H. Böker 5/8, I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Florida Water. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
