After the "Derby Challenge", Weishi advocacy, Veg evangelism, and the Barbasol Brotherhood...there is only one place left to go:

The Arko Challenge

One stick, starting 31 March 2017...using it everyday until it is gone.

How long will it last?

Post your guesses, and if you'd like to extol the virtues of the finest Shave Stick on earth, I always have time for that. If you'd like express why Arko doesn't work for you, I'd love to hear your experiences as well. If you just wanna tell me it smells like a urinal cake, I'll write that I am unfamiliar; and I will tell you you've probably made some questionable inhalation decisions in the past. Best guess (closest to day I declare the stick done) wins the admiration of the people forever, eternal honor, and a stick of Arko. In the event of a tie, winner to be determined in a totally arbitrary and capricious manner that might be completely devoid of fairness; or everyone tied for the win may get a stick. Who knows? Like I wrote, I am leaving room for arbitrary and capricious, but here we go...

How to play:

1) Post the singular word you associate most with Arko.
2) Pat yourself on the back. Good job!
3) Post your projected day that the stick will run out and be declared done. (Example: Day 4)
4) Come April 7, no more guesses will be counted.

Day 86

I started to go longer with the date but based on what the stick looks like after one use and my own experience with it I'll say just shy of three months. You're gonna be using it for quite awhile! For the money (not much) and the quality of the lather (well above average) and the longevity (we'll see about that) it's a no brainer. The smell is a strong lemony clean type of scent which doesn't bother me one bit.

Before I guess a number, I need to know the following: do you load off of the stick, or do you rub the stick on your face and then lather?

FWIW: I will not be showing the stick again until I declare it to be over.

Coat face in soap with stick, then damp Plisson/lather on face like God intended. Synthetic brush, cold water.

It's not a shave stick if one loads the brush, rather, it would be a malformed puck, no?

Agreed, but I have seen it done both ways and that would greatly affect the longevity, I would think. That said, I am going with 92.

Your a 2 pass shaver so I guess 52 shaves

Number of days means "how many two pass shaves", days off won't matter.

You know about Dunhill? It's over. Stock up. I am sad about Dunhill Flake and Elizabethan Mixture. Hopefully some hedge fund will buy the brand and sell it off and keep it going, but until then... Buy it every time you see it in Asia.

For those scoring at home:

Arko = $1.05 stick .... will it go 106 shaves, and be less than 1¢ per shave?

It sounds like an "Adventure" (my one word) as I've never used Arko! I'd love to be in.
