  1. Great picture, Perry! I like the use of the B&W!
  2. Thank you!
  3. That brush handle looks amazing. :happy096:
  4. Bill Shattner couldn't have made a better opener for your post
  5. Day 9 of 30 days of Henckel straights

Another very nice shave with the 6/8 Henckel. I did manage to put a little cut into my chin, but it was very shallow. I think I will be changing to the 7/8 Henckel tomorrow.

    DIY Pre-shave Oil
    ABC Face Lathered
24mm High silvertip set an extra 10mm deep
    1 pass, WTG
    Sampsons All Natural Aftershave Balm
    6/8 Round Toe Henckel 17 1/2
  6. 4 April 2017 Blade/Focus Shave
    Hello again shaving fans!
Today I lathered up some Trumper GFT. As my cold ebbs, I'm able to smell a little today. The Travel Razor/7 o'clock Black combo is now humming along. 2.5 pass DFS+. I'm really liking this razor. The short handle reminds me of my NEW. It's going to be interesting to see how the GSB(which is the next blade) does in this razor.
I splashed on some Canoe and it was off to work.
    Have a great day!
  7. I know very little to nothing about honing. I thought I heard that the spine needs to be worn down as the blade was honed so as to keep the angle. If you put tape over it to prevent wear, will that have an affect on the blade angle and sharpness?

    It is a beautiful blade.

Razor: G3 Gillette Aristocrat Adjustable (4)
    Blade: Gillette Platinum Plus (3)
    Brush: Cremo by Vie-Long
    Cream: Simpson's Luxury
    Post: Alum, Listerine

Seeing as how I've got some kind of handle on this brush, I thought I'd see how I'd do with a different cream. Based on previous experiences, I've come to realize that the Simpson's is one which is very thirsty but a little will go a long way. So, well-soaked brush + tiny dab of cream = more than enough lather. Two pleasant passes and a near-BBS with no blood or irritation.
  9. Thanks. Yesterday I couldn't smell a thing. Today at least it comes and goes.
  10. Colds are always different, I've heard. I had one a few weeks ago, but could smell for the duration, and there was no sore throat prior to.
  11. Razor: Supply Provision Custom 3 dot head
    Blade: Chick
    Brush: That Darn Rob silvertip
    Soap: B&M Night Music
    Post Care: Thayers Witch Hazel
    Alum
    Osage Rub
    Aftershave: B&M Night Music
    EDT: B&M Night Music

First try of the Night Music and I like it, it was weird seeing the brown lather. Performance was the usual B&M; excellent glide, cushion and protection. I know this scent is polarizing but I really like it. It's been about 2 hours since I shaved and the scent has dried down to a nice vanilla musk scent; the EDT enhanced the musk. This one is definitely staying near the top of the rotation. Have a great day folks!

  12. Thank you Jim. I think this set up is just very photogenic which means more than my modest skills.
  13. Fantastic setup Jim.
  14. Thank you Amigo. I am so happy I have one brush with a translucent handle.
  15. Will you post a photo of your G3?
  16. That's all true. The vast majority of blades aren't that ornate!
