1. Congratulations! Those are beautiful razors and one heck of a cool design. Hope it works well for you.
  2. This is what I come up with on a search for the Lime Beater. Whether or not if it's a different version, I don't know.

But I do have one like the one you posted. I'm re-knotting with a Tuxedo.
  5. Used what was left over from my Ebay bucks, and for a grand total of $1.16, this will be on it's way........

  6. I'm really psyched about this one. Some very interesting history surrounding this razor. The Mark Cross Razor (1913).[IMG][IMG]

  7. I'm waiting for a gray and brown chawan dottie shaving bowl made by Symmetrical Pottery.

  8. I picked up a Christy as well. It will take injector blades if the Penn blades I have don't work out (Penn should fit both Christy and Mark Cross).

  10. I believe I'll have my Brass Colonial Razor today, along with a Gillette Black Tip. I ordered a Wen Rotary Kit, someday I'd like to re-knot a shaving brush.
  11. I ordered a jar and aftershave of Stirling Barbershop, and a tube of unscented balm.
  12. A '48/'49 SS

Edit: I will once again attempt to order 100 Gillette Platinums. This time, from a reliable source (read: previously-used seller).
  13. That is a monster, Kerry!

  16. You know the deal; You look and think is that junk or is not? .... Hmmmm, I like the handle ... I could transplant the knot .... aww why not.

    s-l1600-44.jpg

It's listed as a Erbe Solingen brush and it's sold out of Germany. I may transplant the knot to an Ever Ready 150. There was an amber and a lucite one available, but my son likes blue and he may get it for Christmas.
  17. Yeah, the seller says it has no maker's name on it and hoping it'll take an 18mm knot because I have a couple of them. Even if I have to enlarge the diameter of the hole.

  18. What knot would you put in it? Looks like it still might be good, unless he doesn't like boars.

  19. Looks like the one made in the 70's and 80's. I would think at least an 18mm.

  20. He's impatient on a brush. Fails to understand break in period, but he really likes synthetic. I gave him a synthetic re-knot last Christmas and he handed me his boar brush he accidentally broke at college. I cleaned and repaired it, but didn't want it back; he liked the synthetic better.
