  3. 100% silicone, not silicone caulking compound, will cure chemically. The compound won't unless it is exposed to air.

  4. Good point Adam. :happy088:
  5. I had to reset the same knot three times to figure this out.

  6. :happy097: I probably would have also, but Clint set me straight.
  7. Have to get a tube of that in case of problems. Good info.
  8. :love055:Sweet razor. Even thought you slightly muted the point and heel it looks scary.....in a cool way.

Yikes, stay safe and remember duck and cover means you should have your Dopp kit underneath you to protect your razors.

This is a new razor and and the factory edge was insufficient so I reset the bevel and finished with my Shapton glass 16k. To give this Revisor it's best chance I used a top brush, Thäter and a top soap R66. Wet lather was flying everywhere and the edge was very smooth but just OK sharp, not as sharp as I usually get from the Shapton. Finished with zero blood and zero irritation but just short of dolphin smooth.

  11. Yes, that is the one I was referring to. It is a red gold and white tube that says 100% silicone on it. I used the clear silicone II. Sets in 30 min, low odor, flexible and 7 year mold free.

This was the one posted by someone else who used it to set a knot. It says it set by release of methanol and something else so it is setting chemically
  12. The one in your photo is what I used.
Disclamer; I set two knots in screw threaded ferrules that were removed from the handle. Air could reach the bottom of the knot plug.
  13. Congrats, Jared. That's a sweet looking razor!
  14. Paul, all this talk about seasonal products reminds me of this old commercial. I spotted Neal in the audience.

  17. Thanks.

I left it square, but it was almost impossible to not feel it if you used the blade flat. If you tipped it up even the littlest bit, the front spike grabbed. It felt like it was going to scratch me on every stroke. The couple times it did nip me were my fault from not paying attention, but it just didn't feel comfortable. I gave it a few little rubs on the side of a stone to round off the very corner. It is still square enough to edge my goat with a downward stroke. I am REALLY, really happy with this razor.

  20. I have used this in 3 brushes. I guess I have been lucky as I haven't had a problem yet.
