Two passes got me BBS with a frozen face from the Synergy Frost_byte soap which I really cannot say I like. Oh sure, the lather is so easy to work up and the freeze is incredible but IMHO, the scent is too eucalyptusy and not in such a good way. The Rubby Dubby Doo extended the freeze so nicely!

Saponificio Bignoli Young cream is fabulous!! Without doubt the Tuxedo knot is my favorite of the synthetic knots.

Nice shave again with this combination. Mitchell's is a great soap. I got great lather today by soaking the soap while showering and then beginning to load with a dry brush. I trickled in water from the running faucet (on a low stream) up near the handle and then let it run down through the knot, all the while continuing to load. I trickled in water four or five times. Beautiful, hydrated lather in the end. Enjoyable shave.

Day 13 of 30 days of Henckel straights

Yesterday I switched from ABC to MDC because the lather is not as critical as it was when I first started using a straight. So, I will be switching soaps as the mood fits me. Today I used Provence Sante.

Another day with the 7/8 Henckel, another 2 pass shave, and another 90% BBS and 10% DFS. At the risk of sending myself to the hospital tomorrow with a 7 inch slice in my face, I will say that I think I am getting the hang of using straights.

Catie’s Bubbles La Terre Verte today. 20 seconds to load the oscar11 HMW. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Personna 74 Tungsten still in the Slim. Excellent smooth, close shave. I finished with Fine Platinum aftershave.
