Day Eleven - The Arko Challenge

    IMG_1313.JPG

It's Monday! That means Osage, which is to be applied briskly for that all over tingly feeling, though I didn't get nuts with it. Parker SRX, Voskhod 10/30, this is how I do it:

    Cold water mild soap wash
    Arko application
    Damp brush
    Kung fu
    BBS

Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.

    Have a Terrific Tuesday!
    :)

  6. Yeaaaaaaa....... That might have been a poor choice of words. But it's 0045 I am at work and I did not get much sleep yestetday. Best excuse I got.
  7. Works for me.
  8. Thanks very much Charlie. The brush is excellent. Great fit and very easy to load. I like the Red, White & Blue. Probably no surprise. :)

  10. Thanks very much. Mark has one also.
  11. And I thought I had a rough day but at least the shave went well. Hope Tuesday is better for you.
  12. More and more I'm beginning to buy into the theory of De-evolution every time I turn on the news.

    Colonial Razors “The General”
    Feather Pro (4)
    WDC-8 with Druida Manchurian
    Reef Point Dragon’s Blood

The WDC-8 destroyed the last of the Dragon's Blood soap this morning. I have enjoyed the soap but can't say I am said to see it gone. I'll finish off the week with another Reef Point soap. With a nice slick lather, I decided to mix things up a little and go with a two pass shave. In order to get my normal results, I had to spend more time on clean ups. While the General is efficient it is not as efficient as the AlumiGoose V1. I will give the Feather Super Pro/General combo a try in the future. I finished off the shave with a splash of Fine Platinum. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
  14. Very good picture and setup Clint. I find Dragon's Blood soap to be a bit of a contradiction. There are times when I am very pleased with the soap and other times not so much.
  15. Thank you Doug. While Dragon's Blood always provides a wonderful slick lather, the scent causes me to feel just like you. Some days I enjoy it and other days not at all.
  16. Beautiful picture, Clint!

    April 11 SOTD:

    Stirling Synthetic Brush
    CB Rowan's Citrus Spice SS
    Gem 1912
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Two Girls Florida Water AS

It was a very nice shave this morning, almost effortless. The soap was slick, and the razor was smooth. Not much else to say about it. I hope everyone has a great day!
  18. All depends on the number of razors you have. Mine holds 8 and the humidor holds quite a few blades. The rest are in a test tube rack.

    SOTD April 11, 2017

    Blade: GEM Stainless
    Razor: GEM 1912
    Brush: Artisan badger
    Lather: TSD Barber Shoppe
Post: Witch hazel splash, TSD Iced Barber Shoppe aftershave
    WTG, touch-up

Nice and efficient shave again this morning with the 1912. Couple of weepers on my chin but nothing too bad. They went away with the cold rinse. Otherwise a smooth and enjoyable shave.

    Have a great day!
