    Today's shave
Hot water wash with Nivea men's face wash
    Ralph Lauren safari silvertip
    Bombed Soap Commander Respect
    Gillette single ring (E328272)
    Persona Crystal (3)
    Omega alum
    Iced M&L Florida Water (atomized)
Today's shave was very nice. Respect made great slick lather, with eye opening lime scent. The single ring still giving great shaves, even in it's old age. Finished with alum and iced Florida Water. Wonderful shave.
Hope y'all did as well, or better. 20170412_080555_resized(1).jpg

    Petrichor Wednesday
Very good shave today. The scent was stronger this time - a welcome development - perhaps the soap had warmed up completely to room temperature. I got more redness and burn than usual from the splash, I think because I've been using alcohol free products for the last few days. I added some Unconditional Surrender to put out the fire.
    Prep: Chattilon Lux Butter
    Soap: B-M Petrichor
    Brush: Brothers Bristles Bronze Shadow
    Razor: Merkur Futur (6)

Day 17 of 30 days of Henckel straights

I appears to me that every time I get a BBS I slice up my face the following day. 4 cuts today, all due to inattention to detail. However, it is a very good shave in terms of closeness and irritation.

    DIY Pre-shave Oil
    French Soap Mix Face Lathered
24mm High silvertip set an extra 10mm deep
    2 passes, WTG, XTG
    Sampsons All Natural Aftershave Balm
    Round Toe 6/8 Henckel 17 1/2

Fine Russian steel in one of China's finest examples of reverse engineering. Why not! First shave with the Ming Shi 2000S went off without a hitch. Let me tell you even at level 2 on the adjuster this razor is plenty aggressive. Although aggressive the shave wasn't overly harsh, even though there is a good amount of blade feel. It was however very efficient, 3 passes brought home the baby. Even now 10 hours later and I'm still feeling smooth! Have a great day My friends!

It's the longest lasting of any of my razors. The three hours later "I guess I missed a spot" doesn't happen (my hair grows really fast). It's not remotely easy to use (not yet anyway), especially ATG on my head, but it does have its rewards.

I understand. My Futur provides my longest lasting smooth feeling - 10 hours or so - I use it on six and reduce passes for the best results for me. Milder razors will feel great at first, but I'll have sandpaper face by the afternoon.

    Soap: Stirling Barbershop
    Post: Clinique Post Shave Soother

Yet another stellar shave from my DIY "Slum 20" razor. The name comes from slumming it with a $20 SR. A 2-pass shave, no complaints. I enjoy the Clinique Post Shave Soother...a nice soothing post shave balm...and scent free to boot.

I'll get around to getting a $10 Futur soon, but from what I've seen I don't expect it to perform as well as the Tech on my head shave where it's blade stability that separates the men from the boys. Maybe it will surprise me.

Excellent shave this morning, this was my first time using a Dr Jon's soap and I was not disappointed. Very easy to lather, slick and with good protection. You take all that and factor in this wonderful scent, it's a keeper. It's been 4+ hours since I shaved and the AS is still going strong; wonderful vanilla scent with a spicy sandalwood background. It's one of my favorites. Have a great day folks!

I really need to use my Fatboy more often. I forget what a great shave it gives. But I have so many other great razors to choose from......
