Been a quiet month for me, so far. Then this landed:

A Hoffritz Open Comb. Mr Bond's preferred razor IIRC.

    The variant has arrived.

    Feels nice, it's heavy.
But it'll have to shave to be in the ballpark with the progress.
    Out of the box
    Pros-
    Solid, heavy feel
    Knurled nicely
    No plastic knob
    Cons-
Not marked Parker (my first parker, maybe none are)
Not calibtrated (but niether is my progress) but an instruction card claims the razor as a precision instrument. Kinda cheesy to get a prescision instrument outa whack right from the box.
No storage case (for the same money the progress came in one, right?)

    Tomorrow's shave will tell more.

I also got black ice witch hazel and aloe. I figure black ice will go great with more black ice.

Picked this up today... Hopefully it was worth it. Nice wooden box, missing I assume a blade bank that would fit in the upper right corner. Another version of a SE blade stropper. The only fault I see so far is the screw on the back side of the head. It's bent a bit and I'm scared to try and mess with it too much. Other than that, it's going in a bath of hot soapy water right now....

Next, I got a box full of Louisville Slugger bat cutoffs that I might be able to parlay into some brush handles. Courtesy of @wristwatchb .

Funny story. @wristwatchb also included a great DryGulch strop in the package. My wife saw the newspaper it was wrapped in and put it in the recycle. Charlie sent me a reminder. I searched and searched and couldn't find it. I asked the wife, and she went to the recycle and there it was. Thanks again, Charlie. That is a great strop.

such a good company...even though they are very much loved, i still consider them to be very much under-rated.....how awesome does that 70th smell?...I LOVE that scent.

Great company and top customer service. Shipping rates are reasonable and shipping/delivery speed is scary - Italy to Japan in less than 2 days

I'm with you on the scent of the 70th - amazing!

I cant wait to see if you can work out some blade hacks with the Keen Kutter. I have one that I haven't been able to figure out how to use with a modified blade.
