    Castle Forbes Lavender shave cream
    Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel & unrefined shea butter
    Fine Platinum aftershave

    Two shaves in, and the CF Lavender is already a favorite. I used my Kent BK 8 brush today, which is fantastic for creams. It's pillow soft and has more face coverage than my Chubby 2. I can't say enough good things about Voskhod blades - super smooth, and they pair nicely with the SS. I'm near BBS after two passes and a few touch-ups. I finished up with Fine Platinum, and it is a beautiful day.

    IMG_1360.JPG Skipped yesterday's shave, as I'm still getting over whatever I caught in Chicago. This morning's shave was smooth as butter with a one-day growth. I used Pacific shaves caffeinated cream for the first time. It was slick, but did not sustain enough lather for three passes. I don't know if it was me or the product that was the problem. Not my closest shave ever, in fact just less than a DFS, but it was smooth, comfortable, and adequate so I will take it. Dad dropped by with a second spalted maple handle in a totally different style than the first one. Now I'm sitting around waiting on knots to arrive.
