  1. 17 April 2017 Post 3 Day Weekend Blade/Soap Focus Shave

This morning's shave is with the Cella. My 10098 whipped up a very fragrant slick lather. The VDH/Wilkinson combo delivered an okay WWS. I now remember why I bought my EJ DE89BL.
It's gonna be a long week knowing that my '52 Black Tip is waiting in the wings. But we shall persevere.
Splashed on some Cella A/S and smelling great(if I do say so myself) I was off to another day in the exciting world of corporate security.
    Have a good 'un.
  2. couple of cuts this morning-seems to happen the most on the final usage of a razor(usually 3rd day). Aqua Velva again for my aftershave.
  3. Day 22 of 30 days of Henckel straights

I tried Shave Secret again today along with the 7/8 Henckel. I got another great shave.

    Shave Secret
    2 passes, WTG, XTG
    Sampsons All Natural Aftershave Balm
    Square Toe 7/8 Henckel 17
  4. Fantastic photo Jim. You hit on a big point with good shaves on autopilot. I think that is when you know your technique is solid.
  5. Lovely photo Perry. I guess you are in the home stretch with school. Good luck and hang in there.

    Z3 Gillette Super Speed
    Voskhod (3)
    Kent BK 8 silvertip badger
    Castle Forbes Lavender shave cream
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, and unrefined shea butter

    Floid Vigoroso aftershave

I usually don't mention prep, but this morning was typical: a quick warm water face wash with some liquid facial soap. All right, it is my Bride's Clinique face wash, but don't tell anybody.

I performed a mostly ATG two-pass plus touch-up shave. I'm near BBS, except for my normal trouble spots along the jawline and lower neck. I could work these areas a little more for BBS, but that just invites irritation. Speaking of minor differences between blades, the Voskhod is super smooth, so I can pull off an all-ATG shave with this blade. With my Feather blades, however, I'd probably experience a few weepers doing so. There's been some discussion lately about whether ATG shaving causes ingrown hairs. In my experience (I have a light beard and moderately oily skin), I don't think I've ever had an ingrown since I started wet shaving more than four years ago.

The CF shave cream is fantastic. I applied several almond-sized dollops (more than I probably needed) to my face and went into a face lather. (Yep, I'm comfortable enough in my manhood to use Clinique products and words like dollop.) My Kent brush whipped up a mountain of cream, and the scent filled the bathroom. Good stuff, for sure.

After the party was over, the alum was relatively quiet. I'm quite pleased with this shave.

    Happy Monday!

Another night with the Futur clone and another 3 pass BBS. This razor is performing very well considering it can be had for less then $10 and very well might take the place of my 34C on the dream team. This razor is delivering consistent, long lasting BBS shaves. Have a great day everyone!
  19. Adorable, Andrew. He seems the right age start to learning about the "Dad Tax"

  20. Not that I need another razor, but The Futur and this clone are two of those modern razors that catch my eye. Since I've reached number nine on the vintage Gillette adjustable and for less than ten bucks?
    Setting Neal , yup.
