Shaving with a double spike tip is good for a similar rush. Once anyway.

    April 21 SOTD:

    Razorock Plissoft Brush
    Barbon SC
    Gillette Diplomat
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Barbon AS

It was just a great shave this morning. I squeezed a bit too much of the Barbon SC out of the tube, so I had lather every where. The counter was covered in it. Luckily, my face was, too, and it was slick. This was the second shave with the Big Ben blade, and it was very close to a BBS. It was definitely a great way to start my Friday. I hope everyone has a great day!

Same thoughts here. I used a Derby blade for my first DE shave ever, and it was terrible...or so I thought. Eventually, I may grab a few off Amazon and check them out again. I suspect they have made some tremendous quality control improvements since I last used them.

Jim, that's a very nice looking Diplomat. Having too much lather is good thing. Have a great Friday!

    April 21

    Z3 Gillette Super Speed
    Feather (3)
    Kent BK 8 silvertip badger
    Jabonman Eufros Oriental Breeze
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, and unrefined shea butter

    Alt-Innsbruck aftershave

Yesterday's shave was a full 3-passes, which I do vary rarely, so I didn't have much to shave this morning. The Feather blade certainly does smooth out on shaves 2 and 3. However, I was extra careful and deliberate on all three shaves with this blade, and I didn't have any nicks or weepers. I was rewarded with three very close shaves in a row.

Two passes and touch-ups this morning with a ton (literally 2000 lbs.!) of Jabonman lather...bam...near BBS! Alum was quiet, and I finished up with a splash of Alt-Innsbruck for a mild menthol blast. That's a lot of excitement for this Senior Citizen before 8 a.m., although I stayed within legal limits. :)

    Happy Friday!

    21 April 2017 TGIF Blade/Soap
    Focus Shave

As you can see from the above picture I was at the Mets game last night. The company had a raffle and I won two field level ducats. Took my wife's cousin. Unfortunately they played like the '62 Mets and lost 6-4 to the Phillies.
Anyway, this morning after taking a nice hot shower, I followed the advice of several of you and I beat the Cella container like a rented mule. The JR#161 soaked up plenty of soap and there was a great lather. For it's final performance, the VDH/Wilkinson duo gave a very nice WWS.
Splashed on some Cella A/S and away we went!
    Have a great Friday!

Day 26 of 30 days of Henckel straights

2 passes and a little touchup with the larger Henckel today got me a CCS or DFS, depending on how critical I am being. At any rate, it was a nice shave without any blood. I realized this morning that I seem to have stopped with the days where I cut myself 3 or 4 times. Then again, maybe that is directly related to my reluctance to do a third pass.

    DIY Pre-Shave Oil
    ABC Face Lathered
    2+ pass, WTG, XTG
24MM silvertip set an extra 10mm deep
    Sampsons All Natural Aftershave Balm
    Square Toe 7/8 Henckel 17

Thank you, Charlie! It made a bit of a mess on the counter, but definitely worked well! Have a great day!

It photographs a bit better than it actually is. The plating is still there, but the lacquer is coming off a bit. It still shaves well, though! :happy088:
