It's like the old line from "All In The Family": 'New and Improved', what was the other stuff? Old and Lousy?

I had a fun shave today with this amazing Joseph Rodgers that I bought from @Keithmax. What a cool razor. It is kind of a neat thing thinking about it being 150+ years old. It is a little hard getting used to holding it with that stubtail on it, but it was plenty sharp and fun to use. It was my first shave with a wedge blade, and actually reminded me very much of using a Feather DX. I am quite smooth.

I've always been a Leaf fan. My wife is a die hard Montreal Canadian's fan. I always look forward to a good game and let the card fall as they may.

well, I guess we're for the opposite teams until this series is over-it's been a tough one so far. I'd like to see the Canadiens take the Rangers, but I think NY leads it.

30 Day Crew LE brush update

So, I took a little time to 'crunch the numbers' on the opinions that people gave on the first brush that I presented.
15 people gave an opinion. I'm assuming they are seriously interested or would not have given an opinion. 2 people previously indicated interest who didn't give an opinion when the brush was shown on the thread. I'm viewing this as potentially 17brushes.
    From those 15 responses:
    1. No one is asking, publically or privately, for a design change. Based on that, I'm going to make an executive decision to go forward with this as the design.
    2. A full half of the people who responded about colour asked for the colour to stay the some, and half gave an indication of wanting a natural finish. I would propose that having 2 options- natural or stained- would not take away from the LE notion as the design will be the same. Doubly so if the bulb/top part is darkened.
    3. There were only a few requests for a slightly different opening. I can accomodate a slightly larger opening without changing the dimensions of the brush. Again, I'd like to make an executive decision to build all the brushes the same size and just deal with one or two opening enlargements. This will greatly simplify things for me in terms of trying to recreate measurables.
    4. As for lettering, I will put some examples -based on people's opinions- on the thread when I get a chance to spend a little time on them. I don't think we can all give a decent opinion until we see it visually.
    5. I will be using the maple that I have shown. If you would like a different wood, you will need to send it to me. Rick has graciously donated some fine Louisiana Cypress to this noble cause, and there will probably be enough to make a few handles for folks if they would prefer that option.

A few other things to think about-
-I am prepared to make an order through APShave Co (tuxedo and cashmere) and put the knot in for you to cut down on your shipping charge. You'd have to pay me for the knot, obviously. I will deal with that after I start making some. Some of you have already indicated getting some nice knots from other suppliers.
-How do we decide on an order? :scared003:

Hopefully I can get going on some lettering soon and we can really get the ball rolling on this. I will also post a list of folks who I think have indicated serious interest. Again, PM me with specific question or concerns or post on here if there are things you think everyone should know.
    Have a great weekend all!

That's the brush that I voted for to win your tournament. How do you like the new Port au Prince, Jared?

I'm in as well. Once the details are ironed out I'll finalize a decision about finish and knot. Thanks, Jason, for taking this on.

As a newbie I don't feel entitled to participate or take advantage of your generosity, but if you finish all the other handles and don't have arthritis by then, I'd be honored to have one down the road. I am in on one in LA cypress to be awarded at a time later once I've earned my keep around here at a time of your choosing. With the number you're making, though I'd understand if you were over it long before you got to me, and would totally not want you to feel obligated in any way. If it got that far I would add my own knot.
