I guess an old Sheffield has been on my list since the moment I took an interest in straights. This one completely sooths that RAD outbreak.

The Port au Prince is my new Fanboy favorite. It is the (to me) perfect combination of earth and citrus. Plus..... my wife likes it. WIN/WIN.

Thanks Clint. I think I like it so much because it isn't a super model, but it can do its job well and has been doing it since around the time my great great grandfather was born.

It honestly reminds me of an old Carl Gustav pre WWII 96 Mauser In 6.5x55 that I have. Long as a school bus, and about eleven pounds; hold it up to a new A Bolt and it isn't super much to look at, but I could drink free beers all day long shooting dimes at 100 yards, and I cannot count how many deer it put in the tree when my wife and I were poor as church mice, and venison was our biggest staple. That razor is just like that rifle. I don't own many guns that I had from back when I was a kid, but that one stays around forever.

I think I would prefer the natural finish if you do some that way, but honestly that walnut stained finish you showed (sorry, walnut aniline dyed) looks good too.

If I do my own knot, I will probably put an Envy White badger in. OTOH, I already have one Envy White brush and I don't have a tuxedo knotted brush and they look good too, so if you do do a "group buy" of knots from APShaveCo... I think I will just sit here and chew my nails and dither about the decision until I actually have to make it...

So...where would a person go to find one of those? I think I like it!

The Vitos Eucalyptus was the first cream I tried this month and I revisited it tonight. Of the three eucalyptus creams I have, it's definitely the most strongly scented. It is also a very runny cream but comes in a wide flat tub rather than a squeeze tube. Dipping the brush got me too much cream; probably dipping a finger and smearing it in the bowl or on the brush would better control the amount. It lathers easily and gives excellent performance as a shave cream. It's also the cream I will use to defunk any future new animal hair brushes as the eucalyptus would overpower the smelliest boar or badger out there...

My usual passes got me a BBS tonight. Alum had no complaints. After rinsing off the alum, I rubbed some of the leftover lather into my face as a balm and let it sit while I cleaned up the sink. Half an hour later, my face feels a bit dry, but otherwise the cream's postshave feeling is excellent.

Jason, I would be happy with it however it turns out. And I will provide my own knot. Thanks again for your work on this project, it is an amazingly selfless gesture!

Have a Tuxedo, great knot! It's available in 24mm with bulk order discounts on 25 or more.

The Cashmere, also available in 24mm is described as softer, thin fibers. I haven't tried one so can't compare. The Bulk order discount starts at 10 or more.

Opinions?

Me personally? I like to use a synthetic in rotation, but I pretty much have all of them I am after. I will be almost certainly be going badger. Maybe boar. Prolly badger.

I'd go Cashmere, I think it would look better in the wooden handle (plus I already have Tuxedo). But as I've used a badger for the last three weeks and really enjoyed it, I might go badger. But if a group purchase is in order, i could go with whatever.

And if I'm not counted, then I'd still go Cashmere.

That car's a long way from being paid off. They need to buy a whole lot more!
