Awesome April Days 23-24 Picture for @Shave Fu Two more good shaves. Arko @Fly2High Progress Update Have a terrific Tuesday!
I'd rather be shot than cut, but that's just me. The only time I ever came close to capping anyone on the Job they were coming at me with a bayonet of WWII vintage. I racked the slide on the 870 and he thought better of it and dropped the bayonet.
Works for me. I just wondered. You plan an injector trial? They're actually very intuitive to use and as safe as DE. Really close shaves from the heavier blade stock. It approaches the feel of a super close SR shave pretty well.
Awesome. Review a couple of SR vids. Skin stretching is a safety thing with heavier blades. I hope you nail it. Should be a good time.
Great. It's really an easy technique for maximizing the cutting efficiency of any razor style. It's a great thing for DE and SE shavers to know. In my mind optimal shave technique has several global concepts that never change across the different blade and handle systems.
Arko Adjustable April!!!!! April 23 Razor - 1962 (H1) Gillette Slim (6) Blade - (2) (1) Soap - Arko Brush - Jayaruh #46 Post - Alum Absolutely. Terrible. Horrible. Shave. Ok, maybe not as bad as a Chinese blade but seriously.......that was bad. Notice that I say the blade was on its second and first use? That's because it was so bad on the first half of the first pass that I changed to a different tuck just to make sure I didn't have a dud. Yesterday's shave wasn't good so I thought maybe it was that one blade. Nope. The fresh blade ordered much later than the one I was using was just as bad. This is the sweet spot for the Gillettes for me too. Should be good with anything short of Chinese crap. So what was bad about it? Draggy, pulling, tugging, even though it was cutting. The alum after two passes was heating up way more than it should for a blade at this setting. And the finish? Maybe DFS. Maybe. I'll go ahead and crank to 9 tomorrow and give it the final shot but I'm going to have a backup ready to go just in case. And I take back any good remarks I made about the Extra this week. The Derby Premium - I stand by its performance. But the performance of the Extra speaks for itself at this point. So bad that only one picture really does this shave justice.
How long have you had that brush? I know it's been around awhile. Looks like it's still in excellent shape which begs the question - do the synthetics outlast the naturals? I"m assuming so.
Hahaha, my wife has stopped asking. And I'm still pondering the whole finger shave thing. I've not yet arrived at a good answer, largely in part, I think, to the possibility that there isn't one.
