  2. April 25

    Z3 Gillette Super Speed
    Astra SP (2)
    Kent BK 8 silvertip badger
Jabonman Eufros Oriental Breeze shaving soap
Alum, Thayer's Lavender witch hazel, and unrefined shea butter

    Terre d’Hermès Parfum

Another automatic two-pass near BBS shave today on two day's of growth. JR # 160 is ready to go into the rotation tomorrow. The boar knot lost 4 or 5 hairs during defunking, but nothing on the last go-round. That's a good sign.

I hope Tuesday is treating you all well!
  3. bought a bunch 8 oz blue containers from Specialty Containers. Even with shipping, they work out to less than $2 each. they have other colors, clear and possibly opaque as well. the 8 oz short seen here are great for any puck and have enough room to jar loading.

  4. The Grundtal containers from IKEA are pretty good. Stirling also sells empty containers in various sizes. But I also think there's nothing wrong with just cheap plastic containers from the dollar store.
  5. The IKEA containers are awesome. I cut my fingers on those green dollar store lids, they're incredibly cheaply made.

  6. If it matters, the dimensions of the IKEA Grundtal container are:
    http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80102919/
    $7.99 /3 jars
    Product dimensions
    Height: 1 1/2 " (3.7 cm)
    Diameter: 3 3/4 " (9.5 cm)
    Package quantity: 3 pack

The Specialty Bottle 8 ounce containers are:
    http://www.specialtybottle.com/plastic-jars/blue-pet/heavy-round/8oz-phb8
$1.02 each but you will have shipping
Dimensions: 3.75" width by 2.1" height

Are the Ikea screw on or slip fit lids?
The Specialty Bottle are screw on and come with lid liners
  7. +1
Stainless steel tub, the lid screws on with a clear plastic see through top. Magnet on the bottom lets them hang if you have a steel cabinet or shelf.
  8. At first I thought I-85 & I-285 Top End Perimeter; "Spaghetti Junction".
Can't be as there's no traffic.
  9. As you see in my avatar, I'm a Gillette Sensor Deuce repeater.
  10. Thanks for the container guidance, guys. Lots of good options. Just gotta see how many pucks I need to find homes for when the package arrives.
  11. I've got three empty Grundtal containers that are going to hold three Stirling samples I ordered last night. Got some of the seasonal menthol soaps on the way to try out.

  15. There's some things we don't talk about in my house. (At least not after the first time.)
  16. :happy088::happy088: I hear that!
PickledNorthern, Drygulch and clint64 like this.
  17. Razor: Timeless SB 0.95, w/ TRH5 Dimpled
Blade: Personna Star (3) Made in Great Britain
Brush: El Druida Ebony Zebra w/Manchurian
    Soap: Route 66 Cavendish
    Aftershave: Floid Blue

Outstanding three passes with fourth pass as clean up for a BBS. This blade is preforming better after a couple of shaves. Good feed back from the Personna Star also. It says on the pack Platinum Coated Edges.
My team got beat out so Paul is happy.

  18. Setting up for tomorrow's shave revealed a serendipity as the result of my own stupidity. I loaded up the slant for tomorrow with a Rapira blade, and set up my gear, including the new omega boar brush which arrived from Maggards today. I went to de-funk it, but it was surprisingly devoid of smell. Then I went to whip up a test lather with it and found it to be the softest silkiest boar brush I had ever used, and wondered how it could possibly already feel so broken in. Thrilled with this new brush, I immediately took my Omega pro out of the starting rotation, and placed it in a box of items that haven't made the cut and will eventually be sold or PIF'd. What a crappy brush! No comparison to the new one! This bad boy is stiff, but so soft, it almost feels like a synthetic…
In fact it has an S on the front…
    that could stand for syntheic...
    Wait…
where is the package that it...
    hey...
    this isn't a boar...
    it's a synthetic.

Apparently I love Omega synthetics! I never would have ordered one (on purpose), but it's earned a starting spot in record time. What a great brush!

  19. Beautiful setting and photo Doug. Does you Timeless have the polished or scalloped head?
