I thought you said you never used a scuttle.

If you never used a scuttle in one post, and then say that a sink is the same thing.....then it sounds like you know everything you need to know!

But if you like HOT lather, I would recommend this crock pot.

    Jaykay,

The crock pot IS ceramic, and my crock pot is meant for whatever creative use that my mind can conceive of.

Its a great idea, but, at the moment, I share space with SWMBO. She's POed enough (not to mention the eye rolling in general) - notice she was not Oed in that case - with the fact that I've taken over one her shelves for my shave stuff. This would be too much. Maybe when I have my own bathroom.

I will try this one more time..........On second thought, no, I won't.

It works great. At first I fill it all the way up and soak the brush.

Then after I prep and load the brush with soap, I refill it to just below the insert. It seems to hold the heat fine and is easy to clean.

I checked Wally World . . . they have one that's absolutely perfect -- a little sauce warmer! Unfortunately, it's a premium in the same box as a larger thirty-dollar model, and not sold alone . . .

    I don't think that's a good idea either.

Definitely, Steven, I can't imagine now not having warm lather for my typical 3 pass-shave.

    Ok,

I read this and was extremely intrigued. I got a small pot at a second hand store for 4 bucks and I've tried using it on two occasions. The lather keeps drying up and I can't seem to keep it from getting thick and difficult to apply. Now I don't have an ability to regulate the temperature but I did heat it up and then unplug it the second time around so there wasn't constant heat. That didn't help the situation.

It was a good idea but I can't seem to make it work.

At $129 I don't think I'll be buying it anytime soon.

At that price you are getting into a Barber style hot lather machine.

It's too hot. Adjustable temp dial is the ticket.
