Testing Mastro Livi Razor Club 2017
Last week I went to Mastro Livi's workshop and I saw he started making the first batch of Mastro Livi Club Razor 2017, a magnificent straight razor the members of the club can order until 12 May 2017. It is a special razor created by a collaborative project of Mastro Livi Club's members on Google+, a razor of which I certainly am very proud of. Mastro Livi gave me the honor and privilege to try this razor while I am waiting to get mine as soon as he finishes making it. I therefore am having in my hands - and you guess I am very happy for that - the prototype of this superb straight razor in order to test and try it. The blade is made of stainless steel with three semi-precious stone inserts (malachite, white turquoise and coral), a 8/8 full hollow blade with a French point and scales made of cocobolo wood. I finally shaved with this razor this morning and - wow! - what a super performing shaver it is! You can tell it is a Mastro Livi - everyone knows about his proverbial skill of honing an edge to unequaled perfection - with a velvety touch yet giving a very close shave. I brought this razor with me in this month's trip and I will use it - with my absolute joy and happiness - until next week, so I have plenty of chances to test this razor. For the moment, this Mastro Livi Club Razor proved to be an amazing and very elegant masterpiece, an impeccable work of art of the highest expression of the Italian craftsmanship of which, of course, Mastro Livi is one of the most revered and significant representatives. Magnificent razor! Great Mastro Livi!
