My 0.2. Canoe is much subtler than the Clubman.

 

any notes present in one and not the other ? how is the powder factor in Canoe vs Clubman ?

 

Thank you, Clint! Those are actually the only ones I have tried. The one thing about these SE is the lack of options on the blades.

I have never wished on anyone a dry spell, but for you I'll make an exception!!

Canoe AS is just a bit sharper than Canoe EDT Splash. The splash has a touch of sweetness. I don't know that I'd be able to tell them apart from Clubman in a blind smell test. Canoe isn't top dollar, but for the price Clubman is Good Stink! Both have all day strength, especially during warm weather.
The Canoe is my Lady Friend's favorite, and a gift from her. I'll ask her opinion of the Clubman for the subtle differences.

Edit; Now I'm wondering about Skin Bracer. Can't say I've tried it. Similar?

 

I get the arched eyebrow from Herself when I wear either one.

 

My nose isn't good enough to detect that. Between the two, I'd take the Canoe.

 

Skin bracer is similar to Clubman except its got a little fougere thrown in and lacks that sharp "I don't know what it is" top note. Its green Clubman lol

evening of May 3 - Got the wife to shave with Stirling!!!

My wife says that now that I am wet shaving, there is no chance that anyone can shower, much less shave, in the morning. She chose to get cleaned up last night and partake in one of the finer things in life - a fresh Stirling lather. For her first dive into a brush shave, she selected Jayaruh's #148 or , as I more affectionately call Dark Chocolate. To complete her selections, she had me order (with my 15 soap order - SEE how you get to order MORE soap AND get wife approval!!! ) Stirling's Vanilla Bean Espresso shaving soap. She also ordered the Almond Creme but chose the Espresso for her first lathering. She requested I create the lather. With all the lather issues I tend to have, I was going to weasel out of it but then again, who would pass up on seeing their wife in their birthday suit!! So I obliged. Not having shaved with it (yet), all I can comment on it is the lather and the scent. It was very strongly scented, in a fantastic way. It had glorious notes of natural vanilla and espresso beans. If you held an open vanilla bean pod and a bag of coffee beans, I would have a hard time telling which is which. It really is a great and accurate scent. I loaded the brush like my wife bought it AND because her legs have more square footage than my face.! LOL. I created the typical and easy to obtain lather that Stirling is renown for - thick, creamy, cushiony and slick. nothing but the best for my wife's first whipped lather.

I could NOT convince her to shave with a DE so she used her usual disposable instead. Will win one battle at a time.

She too remarked at how much better this shave was over her usual can o goo shaves. 2 passes and the deed was done. She loved the fact that after one shave she too felt her legs were more moisturized than when they started and this was with no post or pre shave support.

Magic shavette - ROUND 2 FIGHT!!-A little better, less blood, better feel, but a loooong way to go

I've heard people say on a straight razor you need 100 shaves to get the hang of it. I know a shavette is different, but I'm applying the same idea. So 2 of 100 down!!!

Sounds like a good time Frank, every once in a while my wife will let me whip a lather up for her but in general she likes the female version of Barbasol.

 

Gone face bald...got me thinkin' about a custom title....hmm...
