  1. I had some time this afternoon and decided to work on my new MAYhem razor. I want to start by thanking Adam for designing Finger Razor 1.0. I made some design improvements and would like to present Finger Razor 2.0.
I had some design changes in mind when coming up with this beauty. It had to be removeable without the need for help from my lovely wife and it had to be reusable. I also wanted it to be more of a Western style that could be used with both hands rather than a Wa-Kamisori that limits me to one hand.
The following are the steps used to create the prototype that will receive its first use tomorrow.
A quick run to Walgreens and I had a handle.

Because I want it to be ambidextrous, I grabbed two Gem blades and muted the corners on my Norton barbers hone. The blades fit the handle nicely. One on each side.

Time for a bandaid break as blade placement was a little difficult. It has drawn first blood.
    [IMG][IMG]
For blade retention, I decided on Gorilla Duct tape as it is a little stiffer and stickier than standard duct tape. The blades are actually quite stable in this mounting.

I think I have a winner here. It's easy to switch hands with it and the blades are stable. Wish me luck
  2. Good luck. :happy088:
  3. I was literally thinking about - should I close down this Shavy category and just hand Adam the win this early in the month? Clearly he has an award (maybe even two) locked up, as there is no one who could possibly... Wait. Oh look, another post. Are you??? Is He??? Really??? I forsee a new category. "Best Mayhem Shave Innovation" Congrats @mrchick for both inspiring a new Shavy category, and your nomination forthcoming from the Academy.

  4. Don't know how you could top that one, Doug. I'm sure you'll try, though!

  6. You are the Michael Jordan of Mayhem:sport001:

  7. Don't forget to apply for a patent. If Adam is the Michael Jordan of Mayhem then you are Wayne Grestke.
  8. I actually had this exact same thought this afternoon. In fact, I didn't think I had posted it, but had to go back and check after seeing this. Nope. Uncanny. Maybe a shoe line or razor line is in @Drygulch 's future. I hope he doesn't foget us "little people" after all this.
  9. I thought that leaping directly to a multi-blade model right out of the gate was a particularly bold and inspired move.

  10. @Drygulch and @mrchick have shown me that my chances of winning an ESPY are higher than winning a Shavey. I am much impressed with both of you!

Glad the OC Dammy is treating you good.

Awesome pictures!! Be safe out there.

    More SE love. Awesome.
    Hooked...reel him in.

Good luck. The use of the SE blades is awesome.

  14. For those of you growing weary of my recent string of long posts and my multiple promotional posts for the Shavy awards thread, you will be relieved to know this is my last post today. Having said that, I've gotta give credit where credit is due.
  15. :happy096: ;)
  16. I for one very much enjoy your post. Keep up the good work.

    Proceed along the path....
  17. The composition of the photo, with the water channel running straight up the center, the complimenting colors on the gear, the contrasting textures of the concrete in the front, water, stone building with new windows, grass, old equipment, trees, and cloudy sky all just make it interesting. It would be a great photo for shave gear with just the bottom half of it, the whole typing is outstanding.
  18. I am so proud. I was worried the other lemmings weren't coming. In my darkest hour, just as I was about to give up hope, I hear a soft whisper from California. It's Brian saying, "Hey ya'll, watch this!"
  19. Speaking of Mayhem, I'm not putting this on The Hual thread, but definitely shave (or Mayhem shave) related. My next attempt will include a small stick, a DE blade, and more than one pass.
