SOTN May 7th Schick E3 Astra SP (3) Simpson Chubby 2 Synthetic "Soap Destroyer" La Toja Last night I put the "Soap Destroyer" to work on on my VdH bowl filled with grated La Toja. I really want to finish up this soap so that I can use the bowl to hold some samples, so I think I will use this soap every other shave until its gone. The Ch2 whipped up a fantastic later, enough for 10 passes fully loaded! The lather was great but the shave was a little rough as the Astra didn't have enough "cow bell" left in it. I finished pp with some of my homemade lime AS, got a little burn from the alcohol, and a spot of Nivea ASB. Have a great day my friends!
Tues 9th May Today used an ER 1914 [ 12 tooth] for the first time in a while without the use of a Shim. Had forgotten how noisy it is as it rasps through the whiskers, so much blade feel too. Compared to this the new AC powered SEs feel very mild, and require far less shaving expertise. As an aside, I found that the 1924 when fitted with a shim was a more comfortable shave. However , the finished Shave with the 1914 was satisfyingly good all round. I cannot see those who have only experienced Shaving with the Modern SE adapting to Vintage SEs very easily PS Count the number of Teeth on your 1914 !

SOTD May 9, 2017 Blade: GEM Stainless Razor: GEM 1912 Brush: Omega Hi synthetic Lather: Proraso Green Post: Witch hazel, Barbasol Pacific Rush aftershave WTG, touch-up GEM 1912 again today as I rotate through my SEs. Smooth and efficient shave. The 1912 is really enjoyable to use. I hope you have a great day!
While the GEM Blue Star made for a good if unexceptional shave in the 1914, the Feather Pro turns it up to...14. Cuts through stubble on the back of my head in one pass where others fail with three. Shaves like the departed RR Hawk if anything, but I prefer the form factor of the 1914. Super. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Injecto matic day. Wonderful shave with the old palmolive face lathered with the JR #137. The Veg followed it all up nicely.
I got this Schick E2 today. It had a blade in it that was pretty rusty, and it needed quite a bit of cleaning. It did clean up though. I didn't take pictures before I cleaned it. I wish I had. The blade was rustsy and stuck out over the safety bar. I didn't see any blade stops until I got it clean, and they are not much. They are very short. I haven't put a blade in it, yet. Here it is open. It was surprisingly clean on the inside. The last E2 I had was very aggressive. If the blade protrudes beyond these tiny stops, I can only imagine a very high degree of aggressiveness.
Woo. Yea not behind the stops. Whats up with that? Can the blade be moved back? *edit* Are there even stops there????
