    10 May 2017 Hump Daaaay
    GEM Blade/Soap Focus

For my Hump Day shave, I brought out the Cella. Using JR#161 I whipped up a fragrant slick lather for the GEM/Treet duo to do it's thing.
After 2.5 passes of shaving excellence, my face had a nice DFS+.
I really like the face feel that Cella leaves. The Treet blade has really broke in nice. Yesterday I pulled the trigger and bought a tuck of PAL's and GEM Blue Stars. I was gonna just go with the Treet's but hell, I might as well do it right and audition 'em all.
Splashed on some Cella A/S and lookin' and smellin' great I was out the door to work.
On a side note, the Captain lands at EWR this afternoon at 1509!
I'll be there with bells on!
    HOOAH!

  3. For me, 3-4 hours gets me to Montauk or Orient point.

From my house, 20-30 minutes north or south gets me to a beach either on the Long Island Sound or Atlantic Ocean.

Here are some shots in April '15 of Jones Beach

  4. +1. That about covers it. The Academy is trying to capture the highlights in the Mayhem Awards thread. Good place to start. Search "Shavys" and you should be hooked up. Praying for your continued recovery, brother. We have all been anxiously awaiting your stupid human tricks, but having heard of your last few weeks, I'd advise you to consider listening to your wife (if you have one) and trying to keep unnecessary risks down to a dull roar if at all possible. This is probably the only time you will hear type of unsolicited from me, as I'm usually "All In On the Stupid Ideas", but try and take it easy, Neal.

  5. Wow, Neal. Glad you are back. Will pray for your return to good health. All the best!
  6. I've been thinking that I have a similar issue with an SE razor. Once in a while with heavy growth is fine, but daily is overkill and not satisfying.
  7. I forgot. I did take a beach pic for @wchnu this weekend.

    You're welcome, brother!
  8. May 10 - Back to my drinking again

    Merkur 34C
    Sputnik (Day 2)
    Dark Chocolate (JR #148) brush
    Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic
    Alum/Thayers
    Stirling Iced Pineapple Splash

Two new Stirling products for me today, MITA and Iced Pineapple Aftershave Splash. I grabbed both for the menthol they have and I felt that iced pineapple would also pair with EM and obviously Iced Pineapple shaving soaps for when I might need a chill. MITA created awesome slick thick lather. IPAS gave a nice chill and felt great. Love the scent of fresh, ripe pineapple and this matches perfectly. Made the lather a little thicker than yesterday's shave and I enjoyed it a lot.

Sputnik worked well today. 3.5 passes resulted in BBS. Keeping the pressure feather light seemed to help. Needed a cleanup pass on the jawline to get the baby. Alum was tingling but no sting this time. Best Sputnik shave so far. Blade was smooth and seemed very good in sharpness but I still had more drag on ATG. Had to be careful.

Do enjoy MITA more than Gin & Tonic on the Rocks. Just love the lime and lemon scent and the menthol was just perfect. MITA has a slightly more pleaseant scent to me. Rod and Amanda at Stirling sure know how to make great products and now I can also state that about their splashes as well.
  9. What an ordeal I am glad you're back. I hope this doesn't recur again it sounds awful.

    Ever-Ready 1924 Shovelhead
    Dorco Prime Platinum
    Route 66 Cranberry Citrus
    Ever-Ready 200t

Last night I decided to move my MAYhem shaves to the Shovelhead. I trimmed the tabs on a Dorco Prime Platinum DE blade and carefully slid it down against the stops. I had a fear that the blade would slip while shaving, but whats the worst that could happen ? Fortunately the blade was held firmly when the door is closed and no slipage occurred. There was however a lot of chatter from the blade while shaving. Luckily I had the super protective Route 66 lather going for me, I kept to no pressure and stayed on the cap and ended with a very nice close shave. Not as close as with a GEM blade, but there was no blood or irritation, so I'll happily take it! Have a great day my friend!

P.S. who can resist a cute baby smile!

  11. My shave this morning was in near darkness. The wall socket in the bathroom doesn't look/sound good-the lights flicker on and off at best. At times, I went back and forth between the hall mirrors(to shave)and the bathroom to rinse my razor. Gets the legs going, I suppose, lol. I'll get my la dlord on this, no doubt.
  12. Well, it is MAYhem after all!
  13. Yes, and it all staaaaated with me turning 60. The curse of a new decade in ,life!!!!+

  15. I saw your chat about shaving but couldn't read a word. He is so cute! Great photo and really brings smile to my day. thanks for sharing him with us!! I think you have an entire Den of guys who will offer their wives to babysit anytime!!! LOL.
  16. LOL. And after the wives see him, they may actually agree!
  17. Very cute pic of your son. Thanks for making my morning.

  18. Great picture Mark. Another lovely red brush.
  19. If this idea really catches on, I'm willing to offer the opportunity for anyone who wants to take two 6 and 8 year old girls for ... lets just say a month or so. If their mother and I are successful at robbing the bank (phase 2 of the plan), we'll check in from our Mediterranean cruise:happy005: (phase 3) every now and again just to make sure everyone's still alive:lyrtuy5:.
  20. Thank you, Clint!
