I never saw that on The Sopranos. Your suppose to say you have no idea what he is talking about. Your a legit businessman remember.
I love that razor. (Well, okay the brush too..) I used my General the other day, and it isn't hard to remember why it is one of the few safety razors I kept. It got me thinking about getting one in brass. Maybe. Someday.
M-Bomb is the bomb. Okay not funny, but is really is fantastic stuff. I use it with tons of different soaps.
- Portland Razor Company Hydra - Stirling Finest - Stirling Electric Sheep - Stirling Port au Prince AS Boy is it ever nice to get home at the end of the week and have a shave in my own den. This PRC razor is very likely my favorite straight. The shortened blade makes it SO easy to clean up the tough spots on my neck. It is just a fantastic piece of work. Their lead time is kind of harsh, it took just under seven weeks to get mine, but it was definitely worth the wait. A little help from Stirling Soap company and I am quite nearly, almost, just about, BBS.
The General has really surprised me by how well it balances smoothness and efficiency. For me it is just that good of a razor and has me wondering why I have other artist club razors.
May 12 (Friday) - heretical de-whiskering I committed heresy today. Or maybe it was blasphemy instead, I'm not too clear on that. What is clear is that about five minutes before I had to head out the door to get to a conference, I realized I needed a shave. So I grabbed my electric. I know - I can hear the indrawn gasps of horror from here. How did I feel about my first dry electric shave after eight months of non-stop wetshaving with safety razors? Well, it reminded me of a story about how noted gourmand and food critic Craig Claibourne once supposedly killed a high-class New York City restaurant with a two sentence review in the NY Times: "We ate. We did not dine." "I de-whiskered. I did not shave." Like a recovering addict or alcoholic who has fallen off the wagon, I recognize that tomorrow will be a new day, and I promise to do better. Hope everybody has a great weekend!
Thank you. I would recommend this shorty to any new straight shaver. It is so easy to use, and the half hollow grind seems to be a little forgiving about angle. They actually make one called a Sprite, which is the same thing in a round point, cheaper and very likely a shorter wait time.
