  1. Tonight's shave was with a freshly restored and honed razor. I had a silky smooth 2 pass shave, with BBS results. No touchups needed . Very well built razor.

    Razor- Shapleigh HDW Co.
    Brush- Zenith Boar. Aluminum Handle.
    Soap- Stirling Barbershop
Aftershave - Shulton Old Spice. Mmmm Mmmmm Good.

    Sunday's Shave
    zcws.gif

    Nivea Men Face Wash
    VDH Lime
    HELDTITE Synthetic
    Gem 1911 Lather Catcher
    CVS SE
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayer's Lemon WH
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS

The VDH Lime Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my HELDTITE Synthetic brush. I did two passes the Gem 1911 Lather Catcher razor and CVS SE blade, and I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
  3. I hate when a planned shave doesn't happen. There's always Menthol Monday and ain't nuthin or nobody is gonna make me change them there plans! ;)

Jacob got it right the first time. He was a great inventor, but not a great salesman. My collection of Schick's which includes the following models, B, E, G, I, J, K, L, M, & N, give me a nice BBS everytime. The blades last 3 or 4 times longer than any DE or other SE blades I use. If the Colonel had just a portion of King's salesmanship, they could have cornered the market. Have a great day gentlemen.

  8. Nice set. Amazing brush! How's the CaD scent? What's it smell like? Yesterday I tried PAA's "Sangre De Grago" (Sandalwood & Oud) and it was really a winner. Mr. Smythe did well on it IMO and as a result it's going to be a keeper when I usually don't keep aftershaves around by themselves without a cologne to pair them with.

    Lots of LAVENDAR!
Today was my 1st shave with a Ever-Ready 1914... Amazing! A little more aggressive than the 1912 GEM and a lot louder...

  10. Sunday Planned SOTD

Razor: Red Imp 133 11/16 Full Hollow spike point
Brush: Zen "Crossbones" 24mm Romera Manchurian
Bowl: The Distinctive Goat Style 10 5½”
    Pre-Shave Scrub: Lisa's Sunny Citrus
    Pre-Shave Oil: Jasmine Creamsicle
Shave Soap: Beaver WoodWright Jolly Rodger
    Post: Tiki Orange Patchouli Lotion
    Aftershave: Beaver WoodWright Jolly Rodger

  11. It's essentially a classic Barbasol clone. In my opinion it's closer than Fine's American Blend. If you're not familiar with the backstory: Douglas Smythe made the outstanding scent, then named is "Barbersoul". That was just a little too close, so he received a "Cease and Desist" order. So, he renamed it "CaD".

  12. Saturday evening shave...simple, but actually my first shave ever with a non disposable safety razor.
Homemade preshave during shower.. vitamin e oil/ground cinnamon stick/dash of alcohol.
    Barbasol Arctic Chill cream.
Ever Ready model 1912 British made SE
    Barbasol Brisk aftershave
A very simple, but extremely enjoyable grooming time/new hobby combination.
  13. MAYhem!!! - Finally!

    May 13

    Razor - '46-'47 Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade - [IMG] (3)
    Soap - Stirling Barbershop
    Brush - WCS Synthetic
    Post - Alum

I feel some MAYhem about to happen but one more night on the "safe" option before we open the gates. Another fine shave with the Aristocrat and Sharp Star with Stirling barbershop giving a fantastic lather. No issues at all other than total satisfaction with the baby in the house yet again. And, for the third night in a row, totally quiet alum. How much better can it get, eh?

I'm feeling like one of these is about due for an appearance. Pink perhaps?

  15. Thanks Doug. I appreciate it. Love the Wolfman, Wolf Whiskers, and #9 is probably my favorite scent. Real manly. I was pumped to go to Maggard's today for their meet and wanted to start the day with some of my favorites.
