That's quite a smile. How do you like it? How is it to hone?

It's a great shaver. It's my first smiling blade and I'm a fan already. I've yet to have to hone it. I'm sure there will be a learning curve.

I compared the present-day Old Spice to the Shulton one which I still have. The Shulton is more than half-finished and it's cologne, not aftershave. The Old Spice "Classic" smells almost rancid as opposed to the clean, fresh scent of the Shulton. I just showered now and put on some of the OS Classic stick deodorant and although it's not irritating or anything like that I find the scent a little annoying. It's just marginally better than the other OS scents like Denali, Arctic Force, etc. Really not up my alley. I just the Shulton Old Spice once in a while because I want it to last.

I might use this more than once a week. I tried the salve as a preshave, and it did the job a while adding to the scent from the soap and aftershave. Superb shave in every way.

I'm not hoarding my Shulton Old Spice, but I used the P&G as a scent booster to the vintage Williams stick. Finished the shave with P&G, but now I want to apply some Shulton.

My new brush works! Not a single cut or weeper! That's the good part of the shave.

Being determined to complete the shave with my freshly honed Gold Dollar, I was disappointed. Neck and cheeks went well. Very well in fact. Moustache, forget it. I could not push the Gold Dollar through the hairs. Chin, same thing. Sawing action may have worked but that seemed rather stupid. My safety razor finished it off.

Have you tried the Old Spice Original from India? Supposedly it is a very close match to the Shulton Old Spice. And they still use the old style glass bottles.

No, I haven't. I have a tube of the Shulton Old Spice cream and that one is bang-on exactly to the cologne in scent.

Great shave. The R41 is V 3.0. A very toroughly razor which is still gentle. The Astra performed well. The rest is top notch. I deeply love the scent of the Himalayan Heights.

I think the Rubicon version smells closer to Shulton. It doesn't have that sharp artificial floral opening that hits so hard on the P&G version. Rubicon is more laid back on the scent. The aftershaves are definitely formulated different from what I can 'feel'. The Rubicon version has more burning, less post-shave skin hydration, while the P&G aftershave has only a slight sting, no burn of any significance and is more moisturizing IMO.
