You two owe me a uniform shirt...just spit coffee all over laughing!!! We must have a talk about this no coffee. You realize GAWD does not turn the sun on until He has coffee? Alarm clocks are adjustable so you can start coffee before shave time. Oh and great shave !!!! Proceed along the path.
Remember work the brush like it owes you money and not the pain stick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
May 22 (monday) - checking out soaps? Yeah, that's right, a focus back on checking out soaps Gem Featherweight / Gem PTFE ( no idea) Supply Provision synthetic brush Kent/MWF soap Alum and TSD Aftershave Milk - Lavender I decided on a change tonight from the Gillette adjustables, so I grabbed the Gem Featherweight because it was already loaded. Then I tried out my puck of Kent / MWF in the nice wooden bowl because it was sitting handy on the sink. This is either the second or third time I have tried The Fat. A damp synthetic brush loaded fairly easily and then whipped up a decent stiff slick lather as I gradually trickled water into the mix. The shave was a couple pass near BBS, but the alum was warmer all over then I am used to now. I think I still need to work on the "no pressure" a bit more when using the Gem SE razors -- I seem to have it down pretty good for DEs and injectors. Overall a great shave though. The Fat leaves a very smooth face feel, which the TSD Aftershave Milk reinforced while adding a wonderful lavender scent. It left me feeling awake and energized for my night shift.
I should like to add that the Stirling Sandpiper aftershave that I've been listing in my shave lineups is "with menthol".
So among all the fun here I am still on my 30 day learning the Ace synthetic knot. I used Derby menthol SC today. With face lathering the brush did a great job !! I mostly think I have this brush figured out now. Still going to finish the month with it!
New shave, new brush and new soap... Overall good. I got a bit too aggressive and got some nicks on the neck... My fault as I wasn't using soap. The soap is Sammy Soap. Totally botched the water ratio and it was runny but still provided some great protection. And my skin felt great afterwards. We will see what tomorrow brings. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Last night: Boker Straight Maggard Plissoft Brush Stirling Iced Pineapple soap Stirling SDM ASs @Drygulch Strop The shave was as good as the gear implies it would be. It was my own private spectacle and a wonder to behold. I am very comfortable using a straight, and I am learning to keep it up. Stropped it thoroughly when done. Tonight: TSD M-Bomb finally arrived, and I realized tonight that I will never willingly be without it again. Gillette Black Beauty (set to 7) Polsilver Super Iridium blade Omega 10049 boar brush Route 66 Cavendish soap Salvatore Ferragamo Aqua Essenziale Blu AS Back to back fantastic shaves. The Super Iridium is a great blade. The long handle of this razor encourages me to use the weight of the razor itself to do the work. Route 66 was its usual awesomeness. The Salvatore Ferragamo Aftershave lotion smells and feels great. Good shaves. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Tuesday shave Up today is one of my Koraat razors, it has allot of shaves on since it last refresh so I was wondering how long I could push it.... well today it told me it is time for the edge to be refreshed. It was still a good shave but the edge was not a smooth nor as sharp as it was in the beginning which led to some feedback from the alum and just short of dolphin smooth. Irritation A- Closeness A- Smoothness A- Sharpness A-
My thinking was the clip goes through the middle of the blade. So the wire part becomes the handle and both sides of the blade is exposed. Kind of like the bolt razor.
I have seriously been pondering this. It should hold the blade pretty securely. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
MAYhem on the Loose! Crowne & Crane Tobacco and Amber JR#130 Cypress/Synthetic brush Van der Hagen Luxury Shave Mug 1955 Gillette Red Tip, PMP blade Alum and Pinaud Citrus Musk AS From the Soap Pass-around Tobacco Leaf and Amber provided great lather whipped up in a new-to-me mug by way of a long handled brush. Got to have a wooden brush handle and plunge to work in this deep narrow piece of ceramic. Taking Andrew @Linuxguile's idea into Chris @SharptoothC's pondering's - I tightened down the Red Tip, then loosened it. Tight again until the doors were just holding the Med Prep Personna in place. Increasing the aggression on an aggressive razor? Loose the Blade! Three passes, enough lather to do clean ups, buffing, and a whole batch of G-Sliding rewarded a better than average reduction. Alum sparkled a little, especially on my neck where that swirl happens. Double splash of a fresh... well as fresh as a bottle of Pinaud can be... new to my selection AS. Defiantly into the DFS zone! Good Shaves Y'all!
