  1. A couple of thoughts from the last couple of days:

    -L&L Marshlands
    -Stirling Port au Prince

Marshlands smells like marsh. And peanuts. Marsh is a nice way of saying swamp. We aren't supposed to call them swamps anymore, wetland is the appropriate term. Now don't get me wrong, I like a good swamp, God knows I spend enough time in them. The soap definitely has an earthy, nutty scent. The base is fantastic, but I don't think I would buy a tub of this scent. It reminds me too much of work.

The General is one of the easiest to use, absolute BBS machines I have ever tried. It is no wonder it is one of only a few safety razors I ever use any more.

    Have a good day, folks.

  3. I'm not sure what your definition of well behaved and safe are, Adam, but clearly the standards for both are lower than average here. Kind of the same idea as being valedictorian in the special ed class. Nice thought, but I'm not sure what it really means.

  6. Welcome back Neal. I am glad that you were able to spend time with your Mom. My prayers are with you and your family.
  7. When I got on board I was told it was a three hour tour and the hot farmer's daughter and a sultry readhead were on board. I was completely misled on both counts and now I can't seem to get off this island!
  8. Great photos Jared. :happy102: We that description of Marshland it won't be on my buy list either. The General is a great razor.

The brass General such a smooth razor that it is a joy to use. I went with a 3 pass shave followed by touch ups ended in my normal near BBS. In an effort to mix things up a little, I used a splash of Fine Fresh Vetiver. I love this scent and it really ended the shave on a high note. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
  13. Shave 6 good to go irritation free! Put a little too much pressure on the jaw line but I caught myself and confirmed my call when I used the Alum block. It's been about a week since the last time I actually felt the sting from that guy.

  16. Beautiful picture, Clint! It is a little hilly, but I have an urge to hit a putting green when I see that setting.

    Blade: GEM Stainless
    Razor: GEM Featherweight
    Brush: Semogue 1520 boar
    Lather: Williams Mug Soap
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Mountain Man aftershave
    WTG, touch-up

Williams Wednesday!! Soaked the soap and the brush while showering and then loaded and loaded and loaded. Added water very slowly at the top of the knot and continued loading. Then I moved to bowl lathering. Some vigorous swirls and a little more water led to some excellent lather. Very stable - no dissipation at all. Also pretty darn slick.

Regular pass with clean-up and a nice shave was had. That was the best Williams lather I've ever had. It just takes some extra work and a little prodding.

Graduation is this afternoon for the seniors at my school. Last day with students is tomorrow followed by a teacher sign-out day on Friday. Then REST!

    Have a great Wednesday!

  18. Shave 6 here too! Pretty good shave except when I used my razor like an axe on my upper lip and took a big chop. Maybe that's an exaggeration but that's what it felt like when it happened. Got a nice blood lather on my upper lip the next pass! The alum block fixed that and only had a little stinging on the neck. I've also decided I'm going to lay off the neck a little because I'm starting to get the red bumps from shaving it everyday. I just don't want the chest hair growing up that far. They always warned me the stuff I like will put hair on my chest.

Day 3 of the Schick G/PAL combo in my on again/off again Injector focus. A first class lather with this excellent soap, coupled with a some confidence in this razor & blade led me to be more aggressive this morning. Went X,X, ATG on my 3 neck passes. As you know, ATG on my neck is usually iffy. Today resulted in a near BBS, but I do have some irritation on my neck. Also got my first 2 weepers with any Injector this morning, on my neck. They didn't even survive the AS. Overall, a very nice shave finished off with this excellent splash.
    Have a great day all!

    24 May 2017 Hump Daaaaay!
    MAYhem Blade/Soap Focus Shave

Pre: Hot water, hot towel with some soap I got off the puck
Razor: 1952 Gillette Super Speed Black Tip
    Blade: Voskhod Teflon Coated
    Brush: Omega 10098
    Soap: Route 66 "Rum Runner"
Post: Hot/Cold rinse, alum block, Dominello Vitali Calming Post Shave Moisturizer
After Shave: Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum.

Going to keep the Caribbean vibe going for the rest of the week. Up today, "Rum Runner" by Route 66. @Salty Belle gave me the skinny on this soap. There's no Bay, but there is sugar cane Rum. Close enough for me!
Using the 10098, I got a great lather. Nice and slick. The Black Tip/Voskhod continues to deliver fantastic shaves. Today if I just did two passes I would have had a DFS. By doing the half pass on my neck I got another BBS! So far this is the difference between the Voskhod and the Shark. I've gotten more BBS with the Russian steel. Either blade however would be fine in this razor. I just may alternate blades.
Splashed on some Clubman VIBR and off I went. May your Hump Day run smoothly. See ya!!
