The plating on the Star is very thin. Be gentle when cleaning as it's very easy to remove.

It didn't flake off, if I've worn threw it, then it's brass underneath.

 

Deft polyurethane and/or Renaissance wax? Anybody tried these ? The gold wash on my Progress also seems not long for this world.

I'm just gonna shine it up and let it be what it wants. The worn shots just add character.

 

Uh daaamn. That's a whole lot of blades....

 

When they come it at 5 to 10 cents each, and I have had good results with all of those blades, time to stock up. That should last me the rest of my life. Unless my kids start using up my stash, when they get old enough to shave. LOL

At the rate of my shave (every other day) and never using a blade twice; they would last me over 30 years. Are you planning a trip to Mars?

 

I bet a blade would last for a full body shave, especially if you start with the coarsest hair.
