This is what I have so far. I'm in under 5 and have two more vintage D/E and a set of scales in the mail. What do you gentleman think? The good? The bad? Thanks enjoy the day! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Very nice collection of Straight Razors. The Gillette Fat Boy is a nice find too. I don't understand what you mean, by "I'm in under 5". Does that mean you only paid under $5 for the lot??
Thank you. I'm curious about the fat boy, there are some discrepancies regarding the year not sure if this is the place to ask. No 500.
You aren't alone, I too hare been bitten by the bug! Nice collection! Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
That's what's confusing. Correct me if I'm wrong here. Mine is an E3. From what I've read, it should not have the collar and should have came with the blue instructions. Mine clearly has the collar and revolutionary instructions. Now I read somewhere(I think it was here somewhere) that some are this way because of different manufacturing plants. Could that be what has happened or do you think someone bought the instructions later? But then what about the collar? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It can have a collar. I even have a 1960 (f series) with a collar. They used up parts that were leftover in making the next years razors.
Mismatched sets commonly occur even someone gets a new razor, retired the old razor into the newer box, and takes the new razor to whereever thry shave. Hence the older razor in a newer box and instructions. they get stored away mismatched.
Nice Pathfinder. I like mine, but it's in storage. Ought to send it out since I'm resisting Hone Acquisition Disorder.
Very nice to know. I was wondering that one, it was a flea market find for 12 bucks. The case above it is what it came in, my assumption is it is not correct? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Here's mine as I found it. Correct case was with it. Think I gave around $15. I just pulled it out to be sure - the scales need replacing. I recalled the day I was tapping it in my palm to shake out water and the wedge end broke at the pin. Lesson learned; old scales are delicate.
