I received my order from Wickham's Soap Company in England on Monday: two tubs one Club Cola and one Russian Leather. I tried the Cola this morning, a wonderful smelling and performing soap.
Today i hauled a VanderHagen set. I got the green box set with the small soap cup and the boar brush. One of my granddaughters has a boyfriend, who is leaving to go to boot camp soon. He is a respectful young man. During my talks with him, i asked if his father was involved in his life. He said no. I gave him some basic life advice. I also asked if anyone showed him how to shave. He intently listened. I am going to pair the merkur 34c, i recently acquired, with the VdH set, maybe a few other things, and gift it to him before he leaves home.
I believe that's the set I have - fake wooden box with hinges? Brush has been working fine - loses a hair or two every other shave.
I'm gonna start breaking the brush in, so it doesn't smell like wet dog. It'll be a good starter set. I prefer their boar brush to their badger. It'll be great to learn on, and small enough to be stowable. I'll prolly find a dop bag as well.
