  4. Before and after, of the Bengall Monkey Tail. The Horn scales took a little work, and the blade needed a lot of polish. I stopped the blade polishing, because a little patina doesn't bother me, but an overly thin blade does. It's a very nice feeling razor, in the hand.

  10. Yeh, the bevel surprised me too. Clean, and straight as an arrow. The corrosion was lighter than it looked, sort of. Lucky for me the Japanese Razors are usually thick.

  11. The postman has just delivered my restored Joseph Rodgers and sons razor. What a fantastic job; the photographs really do not do it justice. Restored in the U.K., by a fantastic fella, who is on this forum! Thank you, Dean - @alpla444 Everytime I touch it I have to wipe my fingerprints away. I'm so pleased. Here are some before and after shots. The razor was bought initially for £10. Chuffed :)

  14. Here was a pleasant surprise from a lot of rusty eBay razors I picked up for dirt cheap.
Extensive rust and hone wear on the blade and tang of this Dorko.
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Some extensive work with greaseless compounds and polish and the blade cleaned nicely. Took a great edge. Some minor pitting on the tang is the only evidence of a rough past.

  16. That turned out very nice. Did you manage to do this while rehabbing your wrist?
  17. Brian, this restoration was done some months ago. Because of the large, restrictive brace I'm currently wearing, there's no chance of any restoration work going on for a while. :sad038:

  19. This was a pain. Lots of sanding, and lots of honing. It was in sad shape, and the tang had to be re-pinned. But, at $7.99, I had to try.
